The lefties on here are quick to tell us who they don't like. That much is obvious, the mere mention of names like Trump, Farage, Tommy Robinson or Elon Musk seems enough to burst a blood vessel, leaving the rest of us somewhat concerned about your ever-worsening mental health.
So in the interest of injecting a little healthy positivity around here, why don't you tell us who you are rooting for? Who is the left wing hero? Who is out there making the case for types of changes & policy you want to see shape the future?
Pick an option from the poll or comment if 'other'.

Other. I don't know everyone on the list but for starters Ayatollah Khamenei is far Right, NOT Left. On all the cultural issues, he is to the Right of Attila the Hun.
I don't have any political heroes.
But to answer the question, I'll list 3 names who would make great presidents.
Gov. Andy Beshear (KY)
Gov. Wes Moore (MD)
Gov. Roy Cooper (NC)
They are all left of center, but NOT social democrats.

Well yes, islamism in general is very fascist, women's rights and gay rights range from being zero to actively persecuted and put to death in sharia countries - but that doesn't stop them being championed by the left. The left love radical islam.

I confess the radical Left loves Islam, but I believe they are a very vocal minority. I do believe a higher % of Republicans are MAGA (which really isn't conservative) than the % of Dems who are pro Islam. Certainly not everyone who wants us to stop bombing Iran is pro Islam.

Should have had Mamdani and AOC on the list.

I'm sure I have been accused here of having TDS but here is an example where I agree with trump. We are both impressed with Mamdani. I didn't want him to win, but there is something classy about him. AOC is kind of grating IMO.

A lot of those are right wing, Starmer and Mandleson are you fvcking kidding me? They went after the left with more vigour than Johnson and Sunak. America is the only country on earth where the likes of Biden and Harris could get away with describing themselves as leftists as well.
Personally i admire people like Clement Attlee and Nye Bevan who left the country in a much better state than they found it, they clearly made peoples lives better.

Well Clement Atlee died in 1967, so if you were to pick a Prime Minister for the next 5 year , who would you go with? Nobody from the poll?

AOC’s voice is super grating but she’s pretty hot and smart, the same as the super-MAGA Latino congresswoman from Florida Anna Paulina Luna, whom I am not sure is as smart intellectually as AOC but is politically. Admittedly I have a sweet tooth for Latinas

No, if you held a gun to my head i'd probably say Sturgeon, at least she's a politician and has actually ran a country before. You'd have too keep her hubby away from number 11 though, couldnt have him anywhere near the treasury

Seems like the left is in some pretty dire straits, if Nicola Sturgeon is the best option beyond digging up Clement Atlee.

Shows an element of lack of critical independent thinking Ricky. We had a Tory Scumbag thread that was 50 pages long. I know because I trolled it a bit asking what is going on in Labour controlled councils. I started a Labour scumbag thread after Starmer got elected and it disappeared after a few pages.
Shows how partisan/tribal people can be and naive we all are as the elites coral people into divisive identity politics and multi tier camps under the guise of tolerance and compassion.

I am an independent but if I had to pick a Democrat who I really like.
It would have to be James Talarico. He is moderate with a moral compass which I think most politicians either right or left have

He's a great candidate. Uphill climb in Texas though. More Talericos and less squads.

I'd like to see a bunch of Talarico's in 2028. Moderate with appeal to both disenfranchised parties. Get the country back to the middle
I far prefer the comedians to the politicians. Solid call.
I think we can agree that the vast majority of the best comedians are left leaning. I don't know if George Carlin identifies as left wing or not but he was definitely not right wing.

Gary Neville
Mind you I thought Gareth Southgate was a ridiculous choice for England manager and look how he did.
