Joe Joyce - Spoilers

Sad to see as a fan.
Two questions

Can anyone suggest a worse career move than facing a hard hitting southpaw when a title shot awaits? And then rematching the fecker? Price-Thompson is not a comparison.

Alas, is there a faster decline than this. From 15-0' beating two former WBO champs and on the cusp of Fury/Usyk, being spoken of in the industry as the "new Foreman" to losing 5 out of 6?

Joyce was always going to be short lived. He turned pro ridiculously late and defended punches with his head.

They should've matched him with a greater sense of urgency, Leon Spinks style. Boxing once or twice a year doesn't work when your prospect is pushing 40.

Its a bit of a shocker though going by the reports - he could have quit many many times over vs Hrgovic so sad to see it like that. Perhaps there was some reason behind it beyond just having a guts full.

Having now seen it - it is incredibly weird. He was even doing a bit of "showboating" earlier in the round. I think a couple of shots might have hurt him before, but didn't look like nothing he hadn't taken previously. Was he injured something? A thumb in the eye or something?

Joyce has fought through far worse before, so I wouldn't be surprised if there was something else going on.
