1. TKO 3 Thomas Hearns (Hearns was coming from a lower class, that is only one minus in this win. Still, slaughtering ATG like that is number one win for me and one of most impressive win in all of boxing)

2. KO 11 John Mugabi (Undefeated KO artist. Mugabi was beast, but Hagler was beast tamer in this one. Withstood pressure, and methodicaly broke down Mugabi to stoppage win)

3. UD 15 Roberto Duran (Duran is best name on Hagler resume, why ive put him at 3rd place - he was former lightweight, already had 4 losses, took this fight to distance and made it close. Plus, he was destroyed in 2 rounds by Hearns after that, but well, styles make fights. Still it was a win over ATG and it is good enough to number 3)

4. TKO 3 Alan Minter (Probably not 4th best guy on the resume, but taking title from champion in his home by stoppage is always impressive. And stoppage itself was also impressive. Plus road to title shot was well earned)

5. RTD 4 Vito Antuofermo (Avenging draw from previous title shot feel good)

6. TKO x2 Mustafa hamsho

7. TKO 10 Juan Domingo Roldan

8. TKO x2 Fulgencio Obelmejias

9. TKO x2 Willie Monroe

10. TKO 1 Caveman Lee

Personally I would have Bennie Briscoe and Tony Sibson in there ahead of Munroe and Caveman Lee.

I totally forgot about Sibson. Definitely belong on the list. Briscoe maybe too, because that avenging the loss value.

Agree that Lee has to go. Would also consider Wilfred Scypion who was a much better fighter than Lee. Mike Colbert and Kevin Finnegan were decent wins as well. Several guys that were roughly even.

I’ll throw in Cyclone Hart. This was one of the most important fights of Marvin’s career.
At some point in 1975 Hagler told the Petronelli brothers that he wanted to go to Philadelphia and “ fight the iron”.
He lost decisions to “ Willie the worm” and Bogaloo” Watts.
He went back to Massachusetts and beat a couple guys and was then back in Philly to face Cyclone Hart. If he loses this one, he might be an afterthought. He kicked the shit out of the murderous punching Hart. From that point on he went on a roll. Avenging losses to Watts , Monroe, beats Briscoe etc.
Beating Hart set things in motion.
