Current scene at its lowest

man, the current scene has been gradually becoming full of idiots, trolls and both, but it has really taken a nosedive as of late. It is at its lowest. The days of tomato can, jaclem, $ bill, overhand, 6 pack, ridiculous ray, richbart, et al are long gone, they seem to have been driven out by a bunch of, to use what is probably their lingo, assclowns.

Says a lot that even in these dismal times of boxing the brit scene is still flourishing!

Its a pity, as current scene forums goes it used to be okay.

I was going to make a thread saying how much I have enjoyed this forum over the last few days/weeks. It really has picked up IMO.

There have been a fair few good "newbies" (A word I don't like to use) and also there have been some older posters who have been contributing more recently than before.

A few guys whose posts I have really enjoyed recently.

Manos de Oro, Eddie Shreder, jomothepure, topper, nickd, slapsie maxie, phenominal nutrition. Also nice to have David Payne back to fine form after becoming a father (the Mark Williams of boxing forums).

These are on top of the ones who often get the pat on the back in posts like this one. The likes of J, James M, Ian McNeilly, Freihart, Kevin, KOJOE, Real Deal and the other moderators.

Its been fun. If I haven't mentioned you, sorry although there is no thread that I ignore because of a poster - there isn't a bad poster here. Cannot say that about the current scene (unfortunately).

Yes, it really sucks, I find myself on the British forum more and more these days...

Even though I don't know half of the boxers you guys are talking about, it's usually more civilized.

The Current Scene needs a new moderator(or two)... Grey is in College, Tomato Can is gone, and Broncano is busy working weird hours.

There's one thing that bothers me about the current scene which is after a fight or before a fight and there are 5 threads going on it.

It's really confusing knowing quite where to post.

I always used to post on the Current Scene but now it seems every post over there gets turned into a Dr. Goodnight plug

Without wishing to sound intolerant, whenever visiting any current scene forum I often fear for the future not just of the sport but of the human race in general.

My American cousins won't understand my following analogy but the Brits will all too well...it's sort of like watching 'Trisha'.

Plus, as I'm so immersed in the British scene, I don't know many of the fighters they occasionally talk about. The likes of Riddick, Tantum, etc are more than welcome over here! :TU:

Yes, I agree, it's a bit like going to visit a retarded younger brother the family has sent off somewhere. mildy engaging at first, but feelings of dread and revulsion soon creep in.

I've noticed that a few of the current scene boys seem to be crossing over.

I cannot believe still how many threads over there are about Tyson.

There are just so many retarded off topic threads, topics about irrelevant boxers like Tyson and Ibeabuchi, and shameless website plugs...

The Current scene really needs 1 or 2 more (active) mods... And I think it could return to a decent level.

There are to many post's about childish shit like the Bruce Lee thread and bloody Mike Tyson.

the monkey vs robot thing was funny when punchpringle did it.

Now, for some reason it's spawned a series of clones who fail to grasp that the original humour came from the mocking of types like themselves who posted all that 'Joe Louis vs Mike Tyson in their primes, who wins' shit in the first place.

Thus we get 'Nick Nolte vs Bill Clinton', just because they think it's funny.
