Surprised a thread didn't yet exist for the death of the fine British boxer Jimmy Batten who has left us aged 70 from Parkinsons Disease.

Jimmy won a Lonsdale Belt outright and took Roberto Duran the full distance.

Any other memories of Jimmy?

I remember the tail end of Jimmy’s career when he was based in the states and everybody surprised that the unknown Brit took Roberto Duran 10 rnds, then him returning to take on the other light middleweight jimmy from London, The up-and-coming future champ Jimmy cable, and beat him on points.

A very tough man and skilled fighter. RIP Jimmy Batten
