Triple lock is ridiculous, people should have saved up pensions whilst working.

I had to look up what “triple lock” was. In the US, they base the public pension increase every year on the CPI (I think the same in Spain). Is Burnham wanting to do away with inflationary increases, or just replace the system with something else? I get the US pension and retirees aren’t’ getting rich off it or jetting off to Monaco for the weekend or anything. If you haven’t saved on your own (most Americans don’t), it is subsistence level at best in many parts of the country. Or you have to move to somewhere like Spain or Portugal or Mexico, where the cost of living is less
