Toney vs Ruiz - OFFICIAL replies from SKY and Setanta Sports

I emailed both of these and got the following replies. First the bad news:
From Setanta Sports:
"Hello,
I'm afraid Setanta Sports do not have the broadcasting rights to that particular event. Sorry I can't be of any more help.
Regards,
Setanta"
Now the good-ish news:
"Thanks for your email about the James Toney v John Ruiz fight.
I can confirm that this is currently receiving our attention and a reply will be forwarded shortly.
Thanks for taking the time to contact Sky.
Kind regards

So the fight is receiving Sky's attention and at least there is a slight chance of them showing it by the looks of it. Let's hope they sort it out because this is a fight I want to see.

Fingers crossed.
Has the UK ever had a James Toney fight shown live?
Can't think of one off the top of my head.

I wonder if the boxers who work on sky put pressure on Sky TV for more big time fights, the likes of Johnny Nelson, Barry, Nicky Piper, Jim Watt & Glenn etc makes you wonder if they ever drop hints to the big boys at sky or if its only the fans that hassle Sky, makes you wonder dont it.

I'll say its late, its only like 3 days away. There's no fightnight scheduled for a week on friday (6th may) so maybe they could sneak it on there. Having said that, it's not unheard of for us to not get a big fight, especially a Don King one.

Looks like Sky are trying their last minute take it or leave deal tatics with Don.
Yeah, give us the email address - enough emails based on a mere rumour might persuade them to pull their finger out

I wouldn't even mind if we got delayed screenings of these fights, but we never do!!!

Well, sorry to disappoint everyone but I just got an email saying that Sky has no plans to broadcast the fight. I presume that means not showing it at all, even delayed, but I'm not sure. If you want to moan at them or beg them to show it I used this address:
[email protected] but it doesn't look good.
