As of writing, there are TEN threads on page 1 of current scene regarding the James Toney fight. (some more may have popped up, as of writing)

Most of them are filled up with insightful remarks such as "yeah yeah, he'll knock his ass the fornicate out", "open a can of whoop ass", "your mother" etc.

Not only has the quality of posters dipped severely in the last year or two but the editors make no attempt to control the forum & stop it being the mess it has become. Is it so hard to lock repeat threads until the juveniles over there eventually work out they should all contribute to one thread rather than starting brand new ones just to get in their two cents? Its like a playground out there.

I agree, and don't even try and mention Lennox Lewis in a positive way or you get dozens of "Gay Lennox nuthugger faggot" type replys.

Whilst on the topic it's the moderators not us editors who have the power to lock or delete threads.

It is getting gradually better over there a lot more locked threads and I think Dr.Goodnights has been eliminated over the weekend

It says alot that I came to British scene to read about Toney v Ruiz.

Multiple threads with childish comments on the same topic is the reason I never go to the current scene.

It's not nationality, it's age.

There are alot more young punks who post in the "current scene" section.

Yeah, how dare those bloody colonials over on CS start multiple Toney/Ruiz threads when they could be over here amongst the cultured and genteel Brits, starting multiple "Naz to return this summer - for real this time!!!" or "Audley to fight Imus Tiff in the Fall!!!" threads.

I never read The Current Scene, I just jump straight into this forum.

Like a good Canadian, I'll politiely ask you to clarify a detail for me.

Is the British Forum for British fight news and chat or is it a club for Brits?

I usually come here for the interesting chat - you're right, you lot tend to stay on topic and keep the comments boxing-related - but I post current, non-British topics on the Current Scene, as intended.

And I've added a Toney post - guilty! - because I'd like feedback on my thoughts. So Marie Antoinette, come on down and have some cake with us, the lowly peasants. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Only some of us smell bad.

It's a club for Brits, so fornicate off back to your frozen colonies.



In seriousness, although this section is predominantly british, and a lot of the news relates to Brit fighters, pretty much everything is discussed, and I am sure I am right in saying everyone, provided they don't act like a tit, is welcome.

Thats how I view it James. It is usually about the British fighters but when there is a lull then world boxing matters are usually discussed.

That's funny, looking at the British Scene there are 3 threads on Naseem Hamed.

At least the Current Scene folks are talking about ACTIVE Boxers. Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

That's actually really annoying because there hadn't been a thread about Naz for a few months until the last few days when a couple of new 'simpler' posters started threads on the chubby ex-Featherweight king.

Overhand was just saying what we were all thinking. He's got a point, although to me it goes without saying. I come into this forum to read (sometimes talk) bout all aspects of boxing, not just British stuff, but thats just cos I wouldn't step foot in the current scene!
