When I looked at the headline, I honestly considered it might be Steve Davis.

Given the short notice and that this is just going to be a walk in the Park after a year off, Davis seems ok.

And hey, I like the classy, "He is currently ranked 70 in the world by industry watchdog Boxrec.com"

He definetly has a better record than Zumbrun. Distance fight with ho-hum Terrence Lewis, Distance with Monte Barratt, Frankie Swindell, Moorer and Charles Shufford.

I've got the fight where Davis gets KO'd by Lewis, he definitely had some ability although we're talking a few years back now.

Not a bad match on paper anyhow.

Still a poor opponent on the whole, although given its a comeback, I'll give him the benefit.

I wanted Harrison to fight Ray Austin now who is poor but just had a respectable draw with Larry Donald.

Have to agree with you all that Davis looks a bit better as an opponent than Zimbrun. And, as stu says, it is a 'comeback.' Another fight or two after this, but then it will have to be a Peter or a Brock by Dec or Jan. We'll have to see what Audrey looks like, but I'd say he'd have a reasonable chance with either. Did he not beat Brock as an amateur?

If Audley puts on a display like the last time he fought in America he should KO Davis quicktime. If he can't match Joe Mesi's achievement he should be ashamed.

Davis is a good fighter on his day - has he had it though?.

Would be the best AH has faced to date, imo.

Davis chin is gone ever since his loss to Terrence Lewis.(As some of the eurosport regulars might know, the rematch got broadcasted no less than 427 times)

Not a credible opponent in any way, at least zumbrun would have come to fight

Who is broadcasting this fight in the UK and what date?

I don't think it'll be shown in this country overhand.

It's not always about the credentials though. Zumbrun looked OK in his last fight. But how about Davis? What was his last good fight?

I don't he's too much of a danger to Audley. Audley's footwork and sharp counter punching will be Davis' downfall, because Robert's movement is not that great. But he does come to fight and is on a small winning run.

Not bad considering Audley's coming off an injury enforced layoff.

Davis was actually a decent prospect a few years back but if there was one word you could describe him with now it would be Fragile

I have to say Dutch Windmill is usually spot on when it comes to things like this. His assessment of fighters is very good and he has seen Davis probably more than any of us.

He got the Dutch Sonny Liston spot on.

This one now gets a Harry Carpenter esque "oh dear".

I know Davis looks better on paper, but if you guys had saw enough of both Zumbrun and Davis recently, you'd rather see Harrison face Zumbrun.

Zumbrun is a club fighter (C level at best), but he can take a decent shot and he always shows up to WIN.

Davis may just be in for a payday.

Zhuge - gotta disagree with u there, i watched zumbrun get stopped by the big fat mess known as patrice l'heureux and he basically quit after being swarmed with arm punches. And I have to say
that davis, even at this stage in his career would probably batter l'heureux.

I hope you're right, but look at Davis' activity the past 3 years and what he's done. I know of (and have seen) most of those journeymen he's fought lately, and they are far from any sort of tests.

He was recently declined as an opponent for Roman Greenberg. Possibly on the basis that he is too dangerous. Althoough I hear that Ettiene or Shufford may now be fighting Greenberg in Las Vegas.

This guy Davis has it well within him to Knock Audley out.

Audley will have a massive height. weight reach advantage, but dont be surprised at all if Davis KO´s him

The talk is of Audley facing Samuel Peter, if he comes through against Davis.

Peter is in form and that IS a good and significant contest for Audley.

Did Audley out point Peter in the Pre Olympic bouts?
