As mentioned on another thread here one of my favourite boxers is former Middleweight contender 'Bad' Bennie Briscoe of Philadelphia, the Middleweight wrecking maching of the 1970's.

Considering he was such a popular and high profile fighter in the 1970's information about him can be hard to come by, one reason for this is that Briscoe refuses to give interviews, so I have a few questions to ask hoping that I get some responce.

(1) Why does Bennie Briscoe refuse to talk to the media?
(2) Where and when did his 'Bad' tag come from?
(3) Did he fight as an amateur/

I think he got the 'bad' tag after one of his early opponents commented on him saying 'he's baad!'.

Maybe an idea would be to email that guy that runs the Phillidelphia web site and see if he's got any info on Briscoe and why he doesn't give interviews etc! 8)
