Who wudda thunk that sprott could be european champ - after watching him get sparkd by williams and llwelyn i never thought he wud get ne where but credit he's on the verge of becoming european champion. Looks like he will fighting hoffman for the vacant title since krasniqui got stripped for failure to agree with a rematch with hoffmann.. Only thing is might be hard getting the decision against hoffman in germany- thought he beat him clearly in their rematch as well but was on the wrong end of a crappy decision.The germans booed that one.

If Williams beats Skelton and Sprott beat Hoffman does that mean we have 3 heavyweights in the top twenty in the world?

Fair play to Sprott, he is making a decent fist of his career and bounces back after losses well. I hope he beats the limited Hoffman but it will be hard to get the decision in Germany.

i think a lot of judges differ in scoring a contender-champion-fight and a "normal" fight. a lot of judges give the close rounds to the champ. this is often the reason why the supporters of the Contender say "Oh fornicate, it´s a robbery......."

Agreed. Plus it doesn't help that German crowds tend to cheer like crazy whenever their fighter so much as throws a jab, this tends to encourage judges to believe the hometown man is doing well.

Sprott got the nod against Koc in Germany, and Hoffmann dropped one to Akinwande in Germany, so Sprott can go there with some hope.

BTW Hoffmann-Sprott is now official, June 11th in Kempten (Bavaria).

Blimey, that was quick. Doesn't seem much notice for an EBU title fight. Still Sprott is used to fighting on fairly short notice, might actually do him a favour.

I hope Sprott knows what he does. I hope he wins and sends Hoffmann into retirement.

Earlier the fight the better for Sprott, Hoffman is a decent European level fighter - but didn't look comfortable adjusting to McGirts' style. If it is the Hoffman that gave Krasniqi a good run then I'm afraid Sprott will probably lose. If it the last version of Hoffman (vs Big Bad Bob Mivorvic) then Sprott should win comfortably.

Good chance to make money for Sprott. Winner of Skelton-Williams or Sam, Virchis or Dimitrenko could be next, even Wladimir Klitschko.
