I'll never see a better fight than that will I?

Just watched the Sky show - Sweet Jesus. That was just UNREAL.

Rare that a fight with a winner and loser leaves you rating both fighters 100% higher than you did before.
Put em both in the Hall Of Fame right now.

Looking back over the last 25 years, for pure-edge-of-the-seat, out of this world drama, the fights that really stick in the mind were Holmes/Norton, Arguello/Pryor 1, Hagler/Hearns, Ali/Frazier 3, Barrera/Morales 1, Sanchez/Gomez, Boza/Limon, Lopez/Ayala, Saad/Lopez - and a lot of these I watched live ( TV any rate )

Add Benn/Mclellan to that list.....

But this one, even knowing the result, just about topped them all.

Even without that surreal tenth round, it was something you'll never forget.

But that 10th round was just something else.

I don't think we'll ever see another fight like that in our lifetimes.

unbelievable fight. If they had made a film of it I would have criticised it for being to far fetched

Well said MW. For years I've thought Corrales was overrated...too easy to hit, too raw. Speechless after that effort. What a heart. Absolutely staggering.

See what happens when you get the two best men in the world at their weight facing off? Let's have more of it!

Criticism of the ref is wrong, although I suppose he could have docked the point at the end of the round (and then wouldn't have got the chance?!).

The sportsmanship shown by both during the contest was class too. What a contest. Must be top ten of all time.

Brilliant fight, luckily I was on holiday and only got back last night so didnt know the result.

That 10th round was unbelievable, correct stoppage by the referee Castillo was in serious trouble on the ropes. Amazing turnaround.

The referee had to dock the point so its difficult to say he did a bad job he was following the rules surely?

Bring on the rematch!

Watched it on TV for the first time last night. Thought it was awesome when I was there but on the box the ferocity of the punishment was even more staggering.

Anyone fancy coming to the re-match?

I thought Adam Smith summed it up when commentating on the fight on Sky

"What a smashing, smashing fight"

We Brits are right bubbling with enthusiasm arent we.

I fancy going to the rematch if it's in a year or so. They should build it up so the fighters get the most money. With an immediate rematch there's a chance one of them might get blown out. Let them recharge.

Yep totally awesome fight, better than Gatti-Ward IMO. Real intense ferocious stuff, Adam Smith nearly wet himself. Two real warriors at the world's best weight division at the moment. They put the disgraceful Heavyweight picture to shame.

Sky should get rid of Adam Smith, he's fornicating useless.

It was all too obvious they were commentating over a recording and not actually at the fight.

Why do Sky feel the need to put their own commentary on these broadcasts? I'd much prefer the Showtime/HBO feeds including the commentary.

Perhaps with the innovations of interactive digital TV you could choose between the two? That would be a nice touch.

Careful, next thing you know we'll be getting "Colonel" Bob Sheridan, a commentator who doesn't seem to believe in leaving any time between "insights". Why Setanta or Sky don't ever use the HBO commentary for US fights is beyond me.

I'm with Nick D on that one, I am getting more and more unhappy with Smith's growing responsibility on the Sky Sports team. He kmows his stats, but he's never laced a glove in his life. I find him a sensationalist poof. SHUT UP SMITH YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE ON ABOUT!!

I fornicating missed it. When was it on, I watched the big bill last night, and thought it was in somewhere amidst that. I'm a stupid pudendum.
