Also, was anyone else surprised to see Carl Froch on TV on a allegedly show? I was damn near gobsmacked.

No, you heard wrong. All it was, was allegedly simply said that he thinks Khan was the best fighter to come out of the olympics since Leonard.

Anyone else sick of the whole Khan/Warren/will he won't he debacle anyway? The whole night was manufactured and i was sick of it after 10 minutes, i only watched because i was sure there was going to be a fight shoved in somewhere amongst the hype.

They could have cut half of the chat and showed more of Calzaghe, i was enjoying his match. He looked fornicating awful! We only got 1 1/2 rounds yet he looked so open with his chin out to dry, getting tagged by a no mark like Veit...all of Calzaghe's punches were wild, wide slaps. Defining fight? Don't make me laugh

As for Froch, well i didn't used to like him much i am warming to him, the guy has front! No pretentions, no phony world titles he wants to fight the best...a straight come on let's fight call out to Calzaghe. Will Joe accept? No! "What has Froch done to deserve a crack at my WBO title?" Well about as much as Salem, Mkrtchian and Pudwill put together i would say

Khan would get found out big time in the pro ranks if he didn't have Warren and a set unbeaten record ahead of him against fighters we've never heard of.

Bytheway, if that was ITV's attempt to 'bring boxing back to the mainstream' it was pathetic. The whole thing was completely manufactured, and dragged on more than any show I've ever seen. I mean, what was all that about when that Jim guy kept introducing celebrities at ringside? What the hell? Then they go and show 1 round of Calzaghe's fight after basically wasting half an hour on pure crap. They should have stuck to talking to Hatton and Nigel Benn, and kept out the bunch of 'local celebs' who have no idea about boxing.

And then to top it all off Kindelan then lets Khan win the fight. Big, big letdown.

And one and a half rounds of Calzaghe ( who didn`t look that good despite hype to the opposite_ how many times did he get caught by the right hand in the clip they showed?)

They could have showed classic Benn and Hatton to whet the appetite not some public school boy toff who nobody has ever heard of.

Calzaghe looked pretty average from what I saw, he's there for the taking if he fights anyone with a pulse.

To answer the first post - Rosenthal said that it was Warren who said the Sugar Ray Leonard statement earlier. So I don't think that was bad, he just was simply saying "you said that Frank".

Regarding the comment about the Kahn show being crap, I can't agree with that.

If ITV are going to give over part of their prime time to showing boxing they have to put a show together that's going to appeal to as main stream an audience as possible - how many people do you reckon watched that show last night who wouldn't normally watch boxing? With this in mind they'd need to see some familar celebs etc.

If ITV have a long term strategy for showing boxing this is what'll happen - some razzamatazz and tabloid TV with celebs etc to hook people and then somewhere down the line maybe coverage is a bit more serious. Unfortunately if you want boxing on free TV this is what will happen because ITV have to pull the punters in to sell the ads.

It might not be what, you/we/me as boxing fans want to see, but that's the way it has to be because real boxing fans are in the minority.

I didn't give a shit about James Cracknell either and would have rather seen something more in depth about the boxers, but on the other hand I didn't have to pay £15 to watch some PPV mismatches either.

The fight was an ideal springboard for Kahn to turn pro.

Did Kindelan 'throw' the fight?

He had nothing to lose or prove. It was his last fight & Khan was never ever going to 'lose' last night!!!

Yes, and this was a special show that was only about Amir - if (merely speculating here although Matt Smith said he'd hope Khan would become an ITV legend) Khan is to fight on undercards on ITV bills then surely the station will show the main event live aswell.

It will be alot different and will get better, they really have to re-introduce the boxers to the audience before the fights.

I was disappointed with the coverage as well, less talk and more Calzaghe IMO I think watching the Showtime run of Castillo-Corrales made me realise how dumbed down ITV was last night.

I read some of you guys comments about ITV with interest. To add my own tuppence worth I thought ITV were utter shite, as they always were/are.

The BBC often get a kick in on this site but their presentation is way beyond anything ITV could dream of which I always said. Sure we can all pick holes in any broadcast but when it's the BBC v ITV head to head there is only one winner. It's like the Guardian vs The Sun.

They misled the public relating to the importance of the contest, the whole manufactured 'week/day in the life of Khan' thing was pathetic and the absolute icing on the cake was Jim Rosenthal calling Kostya Tszyu 'KOSTAS' which I found stunning.

I know there was lots more but I was pissed when I watched the tape at 2am and can't remember. ITV have never changed in the 25 years I've been watching their sports broadcasts. The only time they get anything right is when they nab the top BBC presenters like Des Lynam and Murray Walker and they even manage to fornicate that up from time to time.

Also ITV needed to do something about the chavs in the background of the shots, there were some right pikeys about. One asian lad with his head shaved had the fattest gold chain around his neck and a similar sized bracelet, with half his eyebrows shaved off. Looked like a prize pudendum.

The only things missing from last nights circus were Ant' n' Dec maybe their saving them for the big Khan pro debut
