World Championship boxing and the Fight of the Week from the USA, with a special double-bill featuring Antonio Margarito versus Kermit Cintron in a battle for the World Welterweight title, plus three-time former world champion Sugar Shane Mosley taking on David Estrada on his road back to another tilt at a title.

Yeah good on them, they also showed Brock vs McCline a few weeks back

Did they show the Guinn fight last week? I missed the programme and wanted to get another look at Jason Litzau on the undercard.

On the night they were meant to be showing Guinn, they showed Brock vs McCline. Mainly because the Guinn fight was a snorefest I think.

Last week they showed some bill, to be honest I hadn't heard of any of the fighters. I think the main event was a 10 rounder and went the distance.

5's coverage is possibly more frustrating than what BBC was. They do all the hard work in purchasing the coverage and then butcher it. They cut the interlude between the rounds (and usually about 15 seconds of everyround) and you have to pray for short fights - or they will not show it all.

I couldn't disagree more with StuJones on boxing Channel 5 show.

Cutting out the minutes rest inbetween rounds pleases me because this way they cram in as much boxing as possible. What am I missing here? The points you make seem a bit too pinicky, considering channel 5 as a tv channel don't give it the large one hype-wise.

Are you saying you prefer a large percentage of the show taken up by commercials and studio talk consisting of hot-air ? I prefer it the channel 5 way and long may it continue. I've come to the conclusion that channel 5 offer some of the best unedited coverage around.

On a seperate note, it was a real treat to get McCline-Brock on terrestrial tv and what a good fight it was.

5's coverage is excellent. wish they'd show them a bit earlier though.

No, misread me slighty - Channel 5's coverage is fine providing the fights are short, if we have two 10 rounders main event fights that go the distance, we won't see any of the undercard fights that were shown in the US. Often the rounds are cut and it can be frustrating.

For example, they cut rounds of Johnston vs Castillo 2, but show all of a Butterbean fight that was on the same bill. If they extended their broadcast to show all of the fights shown in the US in full then it would be great - but instead they show 1 hr 10 minutes regardless of the fights. It would have been nice had they shown all of the recent PPV at the same time.

I'm not complaining, the ESPN stuff is the best boxing we have on TV at the moment, but it is frustrating that they have bought the coverage and occasionally (frustratingly) do cut out rounds.

The CH5/ESPN shows are excellent. They make quality fights week in week out, and have far and away the best commentator in boxing in Teddy Atlas. Can't praise it enough.

Watched Margarito v Cintron last night. Antonio is one of my favourite fighters. He is one of the best out there at really "beating up" his opponent. So relaxed and calm in the process too.

Would anyone give some our British Welterweights a chance with him ?

No at Margarito, Spinks, Judah, Forrest (if around) and Moseley but I give Magee a good chance with the rest of the Welters (Rivera boys, Damngaard, Collazo, Tarbant, Crinton, Estada). Although Urkal coming back and possibly fighting for the WBA title might be a spanner in Magee's geniune world title chances - not sure he can take Urkal, he could have 3 years back.
