How do people see this turning out? Personally, I think that this might be a close fight. Barney, though in possession of one horrible, horrible style, has arguably achieved far more than Froch to date in being (very controversially) outpointed for the European title, and that at a higher weight.

There can be no question that Froch has by far the greater array of offensive weapons, and Dean Francis has already shown how well Barney reacts to a solid world-class power shot. On the other hand, Barney is brilliant at imposing his Ottke-esque gameplan on opponents, and he clearly has the fitness to keep it up for 12 long rounds. Does Froch have the patience to hunt his opponent down, get past that flicking jab, and land with enough authority to stop him running? He certainly hasn't shown too much patience to date, against Adamu or Porras at least.

I'd pick Froch in six: the memory of Barney collapsing from a single booming left from Francis before running from the one-armed man for the rest of the fight is a little too strong, and Froch's power-pot-shotting style may prove too difficult for Barney to counter effectively. On the other hand, I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Barney jab and move all the way to the final bell - or even to get within two or three points of his frustrated opponent.

Excellent assessment, i think Froch's power will eventually catch up with the back tracking Barney and take it's toll to a late stoppage or points win.

The key thing for me in this fight is that Froch can take out Barney or win on points, but Barney will probably have to fiddle his way to victory over 12 rounds. For me that makes Froch a strong favourite.

For me I would guess froch wins. That he beat Mark Woolnough who is a natural cruzer makes me think he can take Barnys strength. I also just think he is a hungryer fighter. A lot of the fight will be down to how well froch can dictate the fight though the times I have seen him struggeling (adamu [who beat Barney] and Odin) were because he was put under pressure and couldn't dictate his own pase.

Im not convinced he has much single shot power though I think his best KOs have come through combinations and not single strong shots.

Good fight which could go ether way have to respect both promoters and fighters for making it happen.

Froch is generally very accurate when he lets his hands go, and I don't believe Barney is good enough to keep making him miss.

Froch may win on points in an ugly, fight, or stop him mid rounds, but I don't see Barney winning it.

I wouldn't totaly disscount barny he is an expereanced opperater and has had some success at european level although the loss to Adamu I would argue is telling

What dose everyone think a win would do for froch's European ranking? He is currently 7th behind

froch vs reid i feel would be a good fight,,, froch thinks he is a banger ( not saying hes not) put him in with iron chin and c what he can do, if he stopped reid we could say hes going big places..

Reid is more of a banger than Froch IMO, and I would personaly like to see him fight Maggee befor he fights Reid as that fight isn't such a jump in class as I think Reid would be. That would be a good indicator and would ether put him in contension for or win him the European title (maggee is fighting for) which would be a good platform.

Im not saying he can't beat reid but I think he would have a Job at this stage. We will see what happens with Lacy I guess.
