I want tell you the fact that Amir Khan fight was not FIX! I went there and I saw the fight. It was awesome fight!

Mario was really disappointed at the end of fight – his heart was broken, I can tell by his face. I did speak to him at the end of fight and he said to me “Amir learnt so much from my style boxing”. It is a shame but Mario is still legend. Amir Khan beat best amateur boxer around the world.

You don’t know much about Amir Khan life.. he wake up every morning and trained so hard in the gym and watch the Olympic video again and again and again and so on!! Amir Khan learnt a lot from the video and he managed to beat him. Mario was really pissed off and trying beat him but khan already know his style to protect from punch. Amir dance around then give a punch at the right time… Amir too good for Mario. Mario nearly floored at the last round.. Mario was hurt real badly.. his face was in real pain.. the fans was like “WOOOH” (No im not kidding!)

Watching the video isn’t good enough (so don’t complain fight was fix), if you saw the fight in real life then you will know the answer the fight was NOT fix.

Whoever said warren paid Mario to lose was joke crap.. jealousy make thing up. Mario would never do that. Mario is a nice guy and so Amir! If Mario want money - he would have turned pro while ago - he could make 20 millions pounds!!

grow up mate and have some shame!... im not blaming you all, im blaming who think it was fix.

Well Done to Amir and Mario for good fight. :)

"Kindelan doesn't like to come forward but he had to late in the fight when he was behind and he made mistakes. It worked for me. He had his arms down at one point trying to draw me in but I was not going to get involved and be drawn by him. I let him make the mistakes and kept picking him off."

How can you say that watching a fight on TV is not good enough to determin whether a fight was fixed or not, its the same fight and if anything you get a better view.

Kindelan didnt show up.

agree and if Amir is such a nice lad perhaps he should show a bit of humilty to be honest, champ by 21 and retired at 25, bit presumptious isnt it?

ranks up there with carl froch "im the best sportsman in britain".

champ by 21 .... of what though ?

Is he going to operate at light welter or lightweight, eitherway i think he's got a long way to go and the likes of mayweather, corrales, morrales (looking likely), cotto et al might have something to say about him getting hit mits on a geniuine world title.

OK...

If you don't mind me asking, how many other live fights have you seen to be so sure this one was legit?

Ever see Raging Bull? Kevin Mahon, the guy who plays Tony Janiro, looked pretty upset at the end of that one. Was big Kev properly hurt?

Don't know much about Amir's life? Maybe not, but I did know those nuggets that you pointed out. I picked them up from national television.

Half-decent fight. I'm not saying it was a fix but I cannot rule out the possibility, especially given Kindelan was a shadow of his former self. Surprise and impressive revenge win screened live to the nation and across a huge new fanbase in Asia which neatly allows Khan to slip off the vest and straight onto the Skelton - Williams card. Utterly perfect, which has to leave some doubts. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but toi be cast iron sure, well, I think that's a little naive.

Having seen a lot of live fights and ofcourse those on the box I really think that in most cases you can see the fight in better detail on the tv.
When you're at the fight live you get more of the 'occasion' and excitment but for the pure boxing point of view even a ringside seat won't allow you to see as much detail of what is going on as a tv camera which is in reality the closest you can get to actually being in the ring itself.
This is the reason why I think referees generally have a better view of fights than judges at ringside... (though you wouldn't think so judging by some of the 'decisions' we get, but thats another story!).
For me something wasn't right in this fight from the start, the fight itself was a complete non-event... I've great respect for Mario but have to call it how I see it and there are many who agree with me.

Yup, certainly put me in my place.

Matey also needs to understand there is a subtle difference between an outright fix and a fighter just not 'showing up'.

I agree, J. It's a pudendum's trick to pull people up on their spelling/diction etc.

In the case of 'The Rock', though, his errors are deliberate. I have fairly convinced he is another poster --in character-- trying to get a reaction.

Fair play, J.

This isn't the original Rock, though. That guy could use articles. I suspect a computer may be being shared.

This is a camera I have: http://www.steves-digicams.com/2005_reviews/a510.html (Canon PowerShot A510)

What the best manual setting I should set? (Automatic setting should be switch off?).. It might be quite dark there but I dont know.

what the shutter speed I should set, F2.0? etc ? I dont want photos end up being blurred (when fast movement).

Thanks.

In all seriousness, grammar aside, I think Amir Khan summed it all up at the post fight interview. At the end of the fight, he said that he could'nt believe how easy the fight was at the time and that he had to keep reminding himself that he was actually figthing the great Mario Kindelan. That just shows IT WAS A BLOODY FIX!!
Kindelan would not have given up so easily had the fight been in the world championships or the olympics.
As for the rock. What did he see that we coul'nt see on the telly. He probably did'nt see the idiot with the little boxing gloves on his fingers in the background when James Crapnell and Andy Flintoff were being interviewed. He missed out there big time!!

I fully agre with therock.

Its insulting to Amir that people are saying it. As soon as one of our fighters gets a fantastic result the cry of "Fix" goes up. Typical British attitude

If Khan had tried hard and lost a close decision everyone would think he is the bees knees. Khan caught him with some great shots and fought extremely well. Kindelan is a great counter puncher, but IMO doesn't look as great when he has to be the initiator (especially when hes fighting someone of Khans class) and Khan knew this. Mario can usually just rely on counter punching and capitalising on mistakes as he is 'usually' ahead. This time Khan got in the lead and didn't make any mistakes and it threw Mario from his usual style of boxing

Well Done Amir 8) :D

I don't think anyone is saying Amir Kahns no good or saying that he did'nt get a good result. I think Mario Kindelan devalued Khans win by 'not being at the races' on that particular day. As much as I rate Khan, I still think Kindelan would beat him 9 out of 10 times. But then again, Kindelan would give any of the pro lt welter champs a run for their money.

Posted: 19 May 2005, 11:30

I know that nobody is saying that Khan is no good and that Khan didn't get a good result (I never said that)

IMO Khans excellent performance and the BIG shots that Khan caught him with made Kindelan look 'not at the races'. Khan had been studying Kindelans style ever since the Olympics and before and he came up with a way that he thought he could beat him and he implemented his plan to perfection.

Do you think Kindelan had done the same homework on Khan? no

Kindelan is not devaluing Khans performance, people who cry fix are devaluing Khans performance.

I agree that Kindelan would give the pros a decent run for their money over 4 rounds, but I don't think he is geared up to take the top pros on over 12 hard rounds, so comparisons are difficult to make

The one thing I will say is that the people with the worst spelling quite often seem to be the more 'provocative' posters so perhaps deserve what they get on occasion.

Add Chavez Jr to that list. Same age as Khan and 18 pro wins already.
