Phillipino boxers

can anyone tell me the greatest phillipino boxers past and present? I'm half phillipino but rarely go there and they have a reputation for being quite a tough lot! Just wanna find out more about them

Old-timers include: Mike Ballerino, Dencio Cabanella, Joe Calder, Young Corpuz, Little Dado, Speedy Dado, Lil' Dempsey, the Flores brothers (Elino, Ireneo, Marcario), Ceferino Garcia, Johnny Hill, Freddie Imperial, Varias Milling, Small Montana, Young Nationalista, Clever Sencio, Lope Tenorio, Young Tommy, and Pancho Villa, among others.

According to the 1978 Ring Boxing Encyclopedia and
Record Book, Mike Ballerino was born in Bayonne,
New Jersey and was of Italian descent.

He sure didn't look Filipino in the one photo I saw of him, so that makes sense. The early Tacoma papers said he was from the Philippines, however. Was he in the Army stationed in the Philippines at this time, or what? Do you know, Chuck? He was in the US Army by the time he got to the Tacoma area.
