I would say Holmes and Liston are tied . . .Liston's was harder . . Holmes was snappier.
Louis is 3rd.
Thomas had a good jab but he brought his left down very low after every jab, practically inviting right hands . .

Holmes

by Ezzard
All had great jabs but Holmes is the best in the division.

..holmes' left jab was so good that he could win a fight by using hardly anything else.
..but...i say joe louis. it was hard and fast and was as damaging as many guy's power punches...and deadly accurate.
when ezzard charles beat him when the bomber was way way past his prime, ezzard's face was puffed and swollen from that jab and he had to keep an ice pack on his face for a while after the fight was over ....and ezzard won by a wide margin. he said that jab was "so hard...so hard...and he didn't miss with it." jimmy braddock said the louis jab was like someone shoving a lightbulb in your face.

The best right hand in history is JOE LOUIS

..liston hd a great jab...and he added to its power by punching "through" the opponent rather than at him. however, there was a minus side to this technique. if his opponent slipped the jab liston went off balance and lurched forward.
louis' jab snapped right back into position and he kept his balance.
holmes' jab obviouly was superb. it just didn't have the power of the bomber's.

I would go for
Larry Holmes
Sonny Liston
Joe Louis
Pinklon Thomas
Although Liston and Louis are interchangable.

Pinklon thomas shouldnt be on that list. HIs jab was good but NOT COMPRARABLE WITH LOUIS, LISTON OR HOLMES OR FOSTER, ALI.
be realistic .
