Ok, I've said it. I just feel that Harrison will have too many doubts after the fight with Polo, particularly after seeing Polo easily beaten by Marquez. A lot of people are saying Brodie is shot after the Chi fights but he's had plenty of time to rest up and I expect he'll definitely be well up for this one as he's got nothing to lose. The pressure is all on Harrison, who I believe has been found out.

I do hope your right, Id like to see Brodie win the title from Harrison.

In my heart of hearts I just can't see Brodie doing it. Styles make fights and Brodies style is made for Harrison and I think it will make Harrison look on form. Hes not hard to find in the ring and he'll be drawn to war, its in Brodies make up. Polo is not that style of fighter and that is the style that gives Harrison problems.

Yeah, I hope you're right too but fear that the 2 wars with Chi may have taken too much out of Brodie. My head says Harrison but I'm hoping for a Brodie stoppage mid to late rounds.

Harrison KO 4 Body Shot.


First round: Harrison hurt Brodie once maybe twice
Second Round: Brodie comes into the fight and won the round IMO
Third Round: Brodie by far the better fighter, whipping in body shots and head shots. Brodie hurt by the last punch to the body and bends over to take a breath just after the bell had gone.
Fourth Round: Harrison goes after the body and then gets him with a good body shot and Brodie goes down and fails to come back up. (Well gets up at the count of 9 1/2 but Ref stops it)

Totally agree with every thing you said smit. After the first 3 rounds i said to my girlfriend that it was looking like one of those all action fights that would go the distance. How wrong was i.

If it really meant that much to Brodie I think he would have fought on. I think he realised he was hurt early and had fought back well and showed his worth before quitting. Good body shot but Brodie chose not to fight on.

Well i was wrong there, thought brodie would make a better fight of it.

It was a shame, Brodie just looked to be getting into it and then had everything knocked out of him.

Poor old Brodie. You could see the tears weren't far away in that dressing room interview after the fight. I'm glad the interviewer didn't question it when Michael brought up his WBF and IBO achievements, I'm sure Michael does know the difference but it was not the time to say it.

Anyone notice Winky Wright, Diego Corrales and... might have been Jeff Lacy (face was obscured), sitting having a laugh at ringside - about three/four rows back?

Probably was Lacy as he and Wright are 'gym buddies'. Apparently Calzaghe was there as well so I wonder if Lacy's over to sign a few papers...?

I definitely saw Winky at ringside, Calzaghe was there too, plus Danny Williams and Jimmy Mac.

You could see Calzaghe throughout the fight watching intently ringside. I thought I saw Winky but figured I was mistaken. More likely they're in town for tonights big fight I would think.

According to Boxing News, Corrales, Winky Wright, Calzaghe and Lacy are attending the Hatton vs Tszyu fight.

Apparently Corrales want to fight the winner.

I am glad my eyes didn't deceive me i thought i saw Winky as well in the crowd. Back to the main event and as usual i will play devil's advocate but i think the fight cast more doubts at Harrison than answered questions. SKY were making out he was world class after beating a guy who basically is damaged goods, no disrespect to Brodie who did great but if it wasn't for a well timed bodyshot on a shop worn fighter i think Harrison was going to have problems. He was being forced back and outboxed to head and body, once again it was brute strength that got him through and the fact he was facing a guy who's heart wasn't really in it anymore.

When Brodie put his punches together Harrison looked disorganised and lost in there, i could have sworn he was blowing a bit in round 3 too which was really making the fight interesting, shame Brodie quit after that body shot although the guy has done his best and deserves a break but i really feel a younger fitter less worn out guy than him would have posed the one dimensional Harrison some real problems.

Let's get Harrison in with Chi next and have a war for goodness sake, talk of Marquez is ludicrous, it would be gruesome and i could even see JMM stopping Harrison, the guy is seriously limited.

brodie's legs were totally gone, in the first round he looked like he was wading through crude oil.

Harrison was even worse than last fight, I can't believe how anyone thought this guy was the goods.

Well Harrison got the job done, but SN picked the right time to take on Brodie no doubt about that. He had that stiff legged look about him - the look of a fighter past his best.
I think Harrison might have eventualy caught up with Brodie even in his prime - in fact it's hard to tell, but maybe Scot is past his prime too.

I recall him looking a lot better in the run up to his WBO challenge, boxing and thinking a bit more about what he's doing.

Reminds me a little of Honeyghan: once he won the world title he pretty much forgot all his skills, and it was bombs away from the bell.

Yes that was Corrales & Winky ringside. Bet they're looking forward to tonight as much as we are

Totally agree.

Scott used to box a lot more in his early days and not just rely on his size and brute force.

The Scott Harrison that beat McCullough, Santiago and Chacon was a lot more technically refined and ground his man down with controlled pressure, now though he has become a one dimensional, predictable robot who relies on brute force and extra strength to bully his opponents and break them down. When faced with a slick Boxer or anyone who can box and move he is in trouble, i think it's time for a change of trainer myself, ditch daddy and get a new prospective.
