Here's my list

1. Joe Louis - greatest puncher of all time, One punch power in both hands and lethal jab. He knocked out all the heavyweights of his time , big and small. He broke schmellings back with a body punch and left Kingfish levitsky sitting on the canvas yelling at the ref "dont let him hit me again, dont let him hit me again. "
2. Sam Langford- Often knocked out men much bigger than him, he scored 117 Kos in 167 wins. people his own weight were afraid to fight him he hit so hard, and therfore usually fought bigger men. He was strong as a bull and thats where he got most of his power.
3. Mike Tyson - amazing power, Made opponents do funny things he he hit them. Every time he hit u, ur legs went shaky and one more uppercut and u were out cold. Destroyed everyone in his prime. KOed undefeated spinks in 91 seconds.
4. Henry Armstrong- didnt have one punch power, but was a Ko artist and got 101 Kos out of 151 wins by throwing combinations of speedy fast punches that battered opponents into submission.
5. Stanely Ketchell- His punches were so hard that it was scary he was only a middleweight. He hit liek a heavyweight, and his one punch knockdown of johnson proved it. knocked Jack o brien out cold at the bell in end of 10th round, and had 49 Kos out of 52 wins.
-6. Archie Moore- all time leader in KOs. OFten stepped up in class and Koed all the heavyweight contenders. Possesed loads of power in each hand.
7. George Foreman - Threw haymakers each punch and usually tore the other guys head off. Left ken norton and joe frazier helpless on the floor. even hat 45, he never lost his power and Koed moorer with one punch.
8. Sugar Ray Robinson - past his best, he koed iron jaw gene fullmer with one left hook. Possesed speed and sap in his pwoer punches that left his opponentts falt on the canvas
9. Sandy Saddler- powerful left hook, Koed wille pep. KOed all the great feather weights and had tons of power for a skinny guy.
10. Rocky Marciano- Killer overhand right, thrown fast and hard and he left walcott unconsionce. never stopped throwing punches, broke rolands arms with punches and nearly killed joe louis with his Suzie Q.
11. Jack Dempsey - Scrappy slugger who possesed a letha left hook. left jess willard a mess. one punch KO power and Koed all the best opposition
12. Thomas Hearns - One of the best right hands in history. Decapitated everyone. left Roberto Duran out cold on the canvas. Thrown sharp and fast.
13. Sonny Liston - Jab harder than most peoples power punches. Also powerful uppercut and right hand and left hook.
14. Julian Jackson - Amazing right. One punch Ko power. Left herol graham unconsions with one punch and did the same to terry norris.
15. Earnie Shavers- Possess killer right hand, and had loong string of consecutive Ko's. wanst placed higher cause never Knocked out anyone great out for the count.
16. Bob Foster- left dick tiger out cold with one left hook. Koed all the light heavyweights like old eddie cotton, chris finnegan.
17. Max Baer - One of the best right hands. Battered schmelling and carnera with it. Also Killed frankie campbell with one right hand.
18. Wilfredo Gomez- 42 Kos in 44 wins. 31 straight Ko's at one point. threw combinations of power punches.
19. Marvin Hagler- great right hook, leveled tommy out with it. knocked out all the middlewieghts
20. Joe Frazier - Classic Left Hook damaged everyone he fought. hit hard to the body.
21. Bob Satterfield - One of the hardest hitting fighters who though only a light-H fought at heavyweight. bad chin kept him from the light-H title.
22. Roberto Duran - great right, great slugger. stopped dejesus twice and stopped koed everyone in the lightweight divison.
23. Rocky Graziano - great slugger, Koed tony zale and knocked down ray robinson
24. Felix trinidad - Nasty left hook, Koed a lot of great fighters. Power in both hands.. No one can slug it out with this guy.
25. Lennox Lewis- when he shows up to fight, hes a dangerous puncher as u saw against ruddock, bruno, rahman 2.

POWER IF U THINK COONEY, SNIPES AND NORTON BELONG ON THE LIST THEN STATE UR REASONS.

I am a little shocked that neither Julian Jackson or Jimmy Wilde are mentioned on that list.

KOJOE look again, Julian jackson is on my list. hes # 14 .

and I am reading up more on jimmy wilde before put him on my list. I do hear he was the hardest puncer his weight class as ever seen and most of his wins were Kos. I no about him, but i really want ot anazlyei him before i jump to conclusions.

P.S. I have a soft spot For Jimmy Wilde as my Granfathers uncle was a close friend and used to spar with him.

Good list BB, still putting mine together, surprized Bob Fitzsimmons did not make yours.

Yeah Bob Fitzimmons did cross my mind because he knocked out heavyweights when he weighed only 167 and i guess he could be on their. Especcially with his solar plexis blow to james corbett.

Charles Bud Taylor and Sugar Ramos- each killed two men in the ring and although little guys, could deck men twenty pounds heavier in the gym.

And John L. Sullivan was the most feared puncher in boxing for over a decade....

Reviving a little bit of an older thread here. I think Carlos Zarate deserves consideration. Going through his record, you could say he ran his KO percentage up on an awful lot of unexperienced fighters (many with only one or two fights) on his way up the ladder. But once he won the title, he just kept right on knocking people out.

66 wins (63 KOs) ... pretty good!!

Great fighter he was, but I don't think Hagler belongs in a list of great punchers, or Amrstong for that matter. Both were more wear-em-down type fighters, like Duran.

Yes I'd agree with Zarate - maybe Zamora as well. How about Danny Little Red Lopez?
And whatever his faults, Naz was one of the most ferocious one punch artists you'll ever see.
Pipino Cuevas routinely broke bones in the ring.
Arguello was a concussive hitter.
Larry Holmes reckoned the hardest hitter he ever got in the ring with was Jeff Meritt.

What about John Mugabi, Kostya Tszyu, Tony Ayala Jnr, Alexis Arguello, Matthew Saad Muhammad, Jim Driscoll, Battling Nelson, Jock McAvoy?

They would all be on my list. Some above Joe Louis

oh, and Jaime Garza

If your going beyond World class then two UK modern day bangers have got to be worthy of a mention. Wayne Alexander and Ensley Bingham. They didnt/don't have the basic skill to catch true world class, but they had lights out power vs good chinned, but less skilled opponents.

Jimmy Wilde has to be there, but it is an excellent list.
