Corrales is a great boxer but I'm not sure he would have the physical strength at Light Welter!

Corrales would get broken in half.

That Castillo fight will have taken a helluva lot out of Chico. He even talks different to how he used to. A fight against a strong pressure fighter with a phenominal workrate - a weight up - is the last thing he needs.
This would be a great fight for Hatton - the timing's right here, much like it was for Mitchell after Stewart. All the fans love Diego now, and his name is PPV dynamite. Huge rewards to be gained if he managed to win it.

If Hatton can walk through Tszyu, how exactly is Corrales going to stop him? I seriously, seriously, seriously doubt that Corrales hits with the power of Tszyu. Yes he's a pound-for-pound puncher, but then so is Tszyu, and that at a higher division. I don't think he could live with Hatton for more than a few rounds before getting either nailed with a big right hand, broken down to the body, or simply overwhelmed. His only chance is to hurt and stop Hatton out of the blue, and Hatton's chin seems to be up to the task - let's not forget that he was walking through one of the hardest 140 hitters in decades, let alone a big-punching former super featherweight.

Corrales has more weapons than Tszyu. He doesn't have to rely on just one punch to knock an opponent out, but after the war that he was in, he could be easy pickins for his next opponent, but that remains to be seen. Personally, I think Hatton would be too strong for Corrales!

Like I said before the fight, Tszyu's power was over-rated by a lot of his fans: chinning the glass chinned Zab, and blowing out a scared to death Mitchell did not suddenly make him a true one punch knockout artist - as we saw in the Hatton fight.
( where does everyone rate Magee now, in terms of power by the way? Have to admit he's a serious hitter now, you'd think )
I'm surprised they're taking on Corrales so soon to be honest. December NY I hear? Is he damaged goods now? Maybe SN have an inside line....
But on the face of it, I reckon Corrales just might prove to be the hardest single puncher at 140.
Wont know for sure till he moves up, but at 6 foot I can see him hitting as hard as ever with that type of leverage.
Look at the way punchers like Hearns, Arguello and Trinidad moved up through the weights, without losing too much power ( and Pacman ) so why not Corrales?
If he truly is shot ( and I doubt it ) then Ricky walks thru him.
But if he's not - then it's a very dangerous fight for Hatton. You near enough have to kill Diego to beat him - and while he's still standing, you're about one second from having your own lights turned out.

You'd have to suspect that SN wouldn't be looking at sticking Hatton in for a life-and-death first defence...
I agree about Tszyu's power and was saying the same thing. As far as where this puts Magee, I'd say that was a flash KD where magee caught Hatton with a really crisp counter when Hatton was wide open and not prepared for the shot, plus his chin was cold. Lovely shot but it doesn't make Magee a power puncher. Although he looks like as hard a man as there is.
