Apparantly Kosta has sacked Lewis for stopping the fight at least according to reports, if thats the case bullshit he quit .

Top and botom of the matter is Kosta did'nt come out cos he did'nt want too but reading into it if its true . He will want to redeem himself if thats the case Hatton has said he'll give him a rematch , will Warren allow it .

What are your thoughts on Zoo in a rematch , if theres going to be one you can bet your life Zoo would want a neutral ref, now i'm not saying the ref played a shocker , but from where i sat he definetly allowed Hatton to much use of the head and a lot of excessive holding, a yank ref may not of allowed

This whilst not giving Hatton the fight definetly helped him fight his type of fight, there was also the low blow where it was so deliberate a point should of been took, also the knock down he counted has a slip..

All in all a stricter ref could of made for a different fight will be interesting to see what develops, bUT TO BLAME HIS TRAINER IS A CROCK OF SHITE.

THoght parris did a good job.

oth fighters were guilty and why should hatotn have a point taken off after kostya had just smacked him in the bollox for the seoncd time? It was simple retaliation tit for tat, Ref didnt dock Kostya for two low blows so why dock hatton for only one?

That's crazy behaviour by Zoo and he'll come to regret it. Lewis has been with him since day one and to come out and sack him, for doing his job and looking out for his fighter, is the act of a desparate man.

Reminds me of the great Alexis Arguello, who sacked Eddie Futch after losing to Aaron Pryor.
Alexis later admitted is was the act of a drowning man, who couldn't deal with his loss and looked to blame someone else.

Zoo took the Phillips loss very badly I hear, and it seems he's taking this one just as badly.

He shouldn't beat himself up over this, he's a great champ who just lost to a young up and coming star - no disgrace there.

It was a bad low blow, but didn't Kostya hit Hatton with a few low blows before that?

he did immediately before and earlier in the fight.

hatotn took the law into his own hands, i dont mind that if the other guy is repeatedly fouling, having said that it was quite a dirty fight i thought.

from both sides.

Exactly.

A recent(ish) example of similar behavior was Arnie ditching Brian Hughes after the Tak fight.

Didn't Danny Williams sack Jim McDonnell after his fight with Sunil Sam?

DWwas woeful that night and was just looking for someone else to blame.

True, MW. I think this is it just sinking in now - alone in his bed he'll really be feeling the bite.
Must be hard when it's only your 13th loss in 316 fights (and consider what class he's been mixing in!).
Started fighting as Frazier was pulled out in Manilla, shares an opponent with Barry McGuigan, beat Floyd Mayweather's uncle/trainer, etc. etc.
Will be cutting him up good and proper that people are slagging him off.

Didn't he then sack Billy Graham after the Elcock fight too?
Class act.

It's one thing to sack a trainer for not preparing you in the way you would like, but for pulling you out? That stuff saves lives so as a fan, I can't think ill of corners puting their fighters safety before their fighter's pride.

I think its a good move. It was pretty obvious on saturday that Lewis doesnt offer much in the corner. I've long thought Tszyu just does his own thing and Lewis just helps him out with the training etc. Not being disrespectful to Lewis but thats the way it seems to me. And Tszyu being the master boxer that he is/was you can well imagine that being the case. I commented elsewhere that Lewis' cornerwork was poor, Tszyu does his own thing I think.

A change of trainer could help him at this stage.

Im not making excuses or trying to argue but i have watched the tape 3 times and Tszyu's punch that dropped Hatton was on the belt line and the ones he was warned about where nothing, Hatton's was a delibarate low blow.

I felt Parris wasnt bad, but he was quite slow in breaking clinches.

Hatton was working while he held, which is allowed, it's holding and doing nothing which is generally frowned upon, Kostya also did his fair share of grappling, mauling and naughties on the inside, even throwing Hatton to the ground. Some refs might have broken the action up more, but I think that would have spoiled the fight myself. So long as someone is throwing shots on the inside, and isn't hitting and holding behind the head, or throwing kidney shots, the action shouldn't be broken.

I think Pariss was a harsh for Kostya on the 1st borderline blow, but then he couldn't neccesarily see it was borderline, depending on how high the shorts are, referee's sometimes instruct fighters that the belt line is fair game, Eubank used to enter the ring with his shorts up to his nips like an old man with braces and trousers on.

Your right, Tszyus shot was on the line, and Hattons trunks were a little bit high.

Yeah, and another thing to remember is that Tsyzu couldn't even speak English when he turned pro with Lewis, so the fundamentals had already been established.

Its not an excuse cos Zoo quit but Hattons low blow was a deliberate attempt to send his nits threw the roof, Zoo's were borderline and Hattons trunks were high.

Regarding the comment on why would he use his head when he cuts easy simple he rubbed his head not his eyes that was baltant has well , it was a rough fight but not a dirty one , a different ref taking a point though and pulling up the blatant holding may have changed the course of the fight, mot an excuse cos on the day the man who wanted it more got it.
