Anyone remember this kid, he was from St louis and almost made the US olympic team.. he used to do these flips after he won a fight...I wondered what happended to him. he really didnt have a bad record as a pro but he seemed to just disappear.

Wasn't he that one that was trained by Lou Duva? Became champion then was rushed to early with Tracy Patterson? If that the same Eddie Hopson, I remember he was a good fighter wish fast hands, and too early put in with a tough veteran like Tracy Patterson.

I checked his record that is him. I remember seeing that fight with Patterson it was on abc I think, It was a shock when he lost.

Great little fighter, If I remember correctly it was Kelcie Banks that beat him to the Olympic spot in 1988. Banks won 2 of their 3 contests in the box offs

He had a lot of talent, but a rather brittle chin! I don't recall why he just fadded away the like he did.

Yeah I think He lost to Kelcie Banks from Chicago who went to the Olympics and got decked in his first fight!!! I liked Hopson he had lots of enegry!!

I rememeber they were calling him the next Pernal Whitiker but with a punch.
