Hide -v- Haye

Now that butter chinned motormouth Herbie Hide has gone to 'hide' in the Cruiserweight division, despite the fact that the Heavyweight div is in such a poor state, I'd love to see him fight David Haye.
Hide may not be able to hold a pint at a German beer festival, yet alone a punch, but he is quite simply one of the hardest hitting fighters ever. He would be lethal at Cruiserweight, especially up against the power hitting David Haye! That would be an explosive fight!!!

Can Hide lose enough weight to get back down to Cruiser then? I know he is lean but I thought losing weight becomes harder as you get older.
Certainly a fight I would like to see but don't think it would last too long. Very much doubt it would ever happen though.

If Hide does come down to cruiserweight, I would love for him and Haye to get it on! IMO, is always looking for trouble and shoots his mouth off too much - I read on teletext how he wants to fight Carl Thompson, Johnny Nelson. He also said that he had x amount of KO's at heavyweight, and that he would be devestating at Cruiserweight.
I would love Haye to knock him out, and I predict that he would do this to Hide, if the fight does happen. A fight that would generate interest, I think?

This would be a real hit or be hit battle between two chinny bangers...let's get Haye-Hobson out of the way first though.

Can I have the job of the guy who gets to wake Hide up ?
don't know if Hide can still punch.
didn't he always weigh between 210 and 220 ?
Bowe said Hide was the hardest puncher he ever faced. His fight vs Bowe is fun to watch.

The fact he is lean surely works against him. He looks lean at 225-230, so I find it hard to envisage him coming in at 200 without absolutely killing himself to make weight.

I wouldn't say Haye is chinny, thats ridiculous. Thompson landed many clean meaty punches on the chin and he took them and Thompson is a huge puncher. Yes he got stopped but it was lack of conditioning as opposed to a weak chin IMO.
Hide has no chin to speak of, one decent shot on it (or near it - see Bowe and Klitschko fights) and he's out for the count.

Yeah Haye's loss to Thompson was more due to a combination of tactical naivety and exhaustion rather than a bad chin, although questions were initially raised after he was dropped by Lolenga Mock. Although to be fair Mock is a lot better fighter than his record suggests, anyone who saw him beat up Kai Kurzawa and get rear ended will attest to that and didn't he stop Brewer in his last match?

Yeah, that's right. Mock definately seems a dangerman, I know knockout thinks highly of him (there was a thread on him a while ago).
Does anyone know about Haye's KO losses in the amateurs?

Yes, but that win wasn't at cruiserweight was it. Mock is a LH, and the difference in physical strength is significant between a 175 lber and a 200 lb man.
I think that the win over Brewer who is basically a SM, in fact he started at MW, attests to the fact that Brewer is well and truly on the slide.

He did have at least one shocker I remember when he was fighting at light-heavy and was much fancied for an ABA title after making some noise internationally. He was seriously sparked inside a round by Coventry's Jim Twite I think it was. Considering Twite turned pro in 1999 though we must be going back a far few years.

I was suggesting a naturally lean build. He could lose some of his muscle bulk perhaps more easily than a boxer who has to lose fat.
Or is this absolute **** ?

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking about.

herbie was in the the 200 lb bracket when he started his career so it's plausible for him to make the weight, he always seemed to make himself out to be bigger than he was (i.e wearing big work boots on the weighing scales in the bowe weigh in), anyway it's possible to get any man down to 10 stone it's just finding the optimum weight for retaining the power, stamina and fitness without draining too much weight.

Herbie maybe struggles to put on mass and tries to bulk up for the big guys. So he's not muscled around. He may struggle to keep his weight high while he's in the gym.
