just watched the cotto fight,it's the first time i've seen him and he's a big boy for 140lbs and hit's hard. wait till you see the pics of abdullaev's face..

in he after fight interview larry merchant asked him about his next move in an exciting 140lbs division....cotto said he wants oscar de la hoya and a move upto welterweight!!!!

Was very surprised when he came out with that. It would be an intruiging fight for next summer/latter part of the year. Not sure who I'd go for.

I haven't seen the fight yet but that's probably wise.

Having to transform himself into Skeletor for every weigh in must be taking it's toll.

Should be a good fight to watch on Tuesday evening, Cotto gained his revenge but it will be unlikely we see him at Light Welter again by the sound of it. Anyone hear anything about Casamayor's clash on the undercard with the curiously named "Kid Diamond"?

Yes, Casamayor drew with Diamond.

They didn't have in-ring weights for this one, Rocky, but Cotto looked much, much less drained at the weigh-in for this one than for Chop Chop, so it would be safe to assume he put on at least a little less than last time.

The commentators mentioned at the beginning of round 4 that not one (or only one?) sports editor had sent their hacks to cover this fight - all the rest were in Washington. Have to admit I shared my disgust with this. Lampley and Merchant said last night was an 'IQ test for boxing fans' by what they chose to watch - a 'freak show' (Merchant) or a real fight.

They also seemed to imply that Casamyor - Diamond was a robbery. Eager to see that one.

That's a pretty neat assessment by the old man and his stat fuelled sidekick, that makes 36/43 sensible comments this year from Lampley and that is from a broadcast ratio of 36%...impressive stuff.

They seemed to be hinting it was the other way around - with Diamond taking it comfortably. Opinion on the current scene is varied, so I think this is one to definately look forward to.

they mentioned before the cotto fight about his fight weight for his last fight when he entered the ring @ 159lbs but they didn't have his weight for last nights fight..

as for the casamyor v diamond fight......i thought diamond edged it
