Doug De Witt won a 13 majority decision???? because the fight was a draw after 12 rounds and they fought an extra round.

Why did they fight in extra round???? did this kinda thing happen more than once??? did the USBA have something to do with it

That was the rule for the ESPN title fight back in the 80s. DeWitt may have also gone 13 against Don Lee; I know there were other 13rdrs and I think that was one.
