this current bunch of welter and light middle weight could not match the fury of the hands of stone. as for the lightweight forget about it roberto could of beaten any one under middleweight in the ring today.maybe hopkins to,hopkins aint hagler.

Duran was probably the greatest Lightweight ever. In addition, he might be the slickest fighter to ever enter a ring. He did amazing things in the ring. He was a good welter and middle and would not be a push over for anyone, but at those weights he always gave up size. He just was not naturally that big. I can never forget the way he could turn his head and ride out punches. He was amazing.

you really think duran at welter could take out mosely? you really think duran could take on and beat oscar (at welter)? mosely would thump duran much like ray leonard did in their 2 fight and oscar would likely pull a hearns i believe...dont get me wrong roberto was the man, and i could be very off on my sticking by shane and oscar, but you have to admit these guys would at bare minimum give him a fight.

there is no way that oscar had power like hearns. duran would of got inside and roughed oscar up. chicken delahoya fights like a paint by numbers fighter who doesn`t look like he knows how he wants to fight.
duran a natural fighter would have been far too smooth for oscar.
shane mosely would be tougher, but how good is mosely when he`s not getting his own way.

How tough is mosley when he's not getting his own way? Well, I have no idea, because he always has his way with his opponents!
I think Mosley would beat Duran because of his handspeed, chin, and heart... but DLH, I hate DLH, I dislike anything and everything about him... DLH would step down from Hands of Stone, getting KO'd, or running, but still losing... Then maybe DLH would retire again, make another Latin Pop CD, come back, face some bums, and fight a good fighter who is on the comeback trail, not looking so good, and coming off a devistating ko loss to Felix Trinidad....

i re watched some old duran tapes of my dads and yea, he'd be able to beat de la hoya and give mosely a good fight. and at welter i still believe hearns and oscars power was nearly on the same level
-how tough is mosely when he dosnt get his way? well lets look at his fight with oscar since it was his toughest to date, when oscar had his rounds and spots mosely went with 'it' very well, dosnt get flustered dosnt get pissed and start flailing...stays cool and collected and works to make ajustments-

DLH and Mosley couldn't rinse Duran's mouthpiece in a prelim clubfight in a Panama City backhouse.
Duran has forgotten more than those two smiley ads combined will ever know. As good as those two battlers are, Duran was better in nearly all departments.
DLH has nothing over Duran. Not speed, reflexes, or punching power. Oh sorry...uh, forgot about the looks.
Mosley probably has better pure hand speed, but not the reflexes or the defensive skills, let alone the power. And holy smoke!, if Shane tried to mix it up with Hands of Stone, he'd still be wondering how that right hand he thought he was slipping nicely, suddenly turned into a left hook smashing into his golden tooth.
Did someone say they thought DLH's power was on a par with Tommy Hearns? I don't know what mushrooms you've been eating, boy, but please send some over this way!!!

I can't say enough about Duran, he may be the best boxer to ever enter a ring. But, when he fought at Welter and Middle he was giving up a lot of size. If Duran was bigger, he would have been the best at those weights too, just as he was at Lightweight. Too bad he didn't win the Jr. Welter title on the way up. That might have been a perfect size for him as he got older.

well oscar had height over duran just like hearns, and i know nobody here thinks DLH could hold tommys jock i think he was a near equal, so this is just my thought train here and nothing more. i think that while tommy was faster than duran, DLH was not, but he is a smart guy and would pummel duran with jabs the whole fight, he can avoid punches just like he did against tito...rest assured a fight between oscar and duran wouldnt be as simple for duran as all of you think, you gotta give oscar the benefit of the doubt, you may not like him but he dosnt suck.
as for the drugs im on its a mix of morphine and china white heroin, very expensive stuff so i sadly cant give you any of my supply, you know how it is
as for the 'no mas' fight, yes i have seen obviously, but i was too young to know about what was going on pre fight wise and lack resources and will power to find this, but my dad says that duran was sick coming into the fight or something, maybe he is right maybe he isnt but i dont think it was a rigged fight nevertheless.

Ahh the old days.....here's a good give and take to chew on. I like the mention of the under discussed Joe Brown's name showing up here. And Samuel stirring things up back in '02 just the way he does now.
Some things never change. And Don't count out Duran taking on Ol Henry and besting him. Sadly I'll never get to bet on that fight.

De La Hoya was far too one dimensional to beat a fighter like Duran, and so was Mosley. Those two were very good, perhaps great, but Duran was a legend. It's like putting Willie Pep against Azumah Nelson.

Duran was just a devastating phenom at lightweight. It would be going overboard to guarantee anyone could dominate him at that weight.

Yep, I don't think PBF can do anything better than Sugar Ray Leonard, but in contrast to Leonard he is natrurally smaller than Duran.

Duran is the best fighter that I have ever seen in my lifetime.
He was the best fighter I have seen being in his prime, and the best I have seen being washed up.
