Which active fighter give Mayweather the toughest fight.

Which of these fighters gives Floyd the toughest fight.

My vote goes surprisingly to Kostya Tszyu, I think out of these fighters (with maybe the exception of Margarito) he is the hardest single punch hitter of the bunch.

The thing that got to Tszyu vs Hatton (Hatton's workrate) will not apply so much here, cause Mayweather isn't a pressure fighter.

Kostya is also exceptional at cutting down the ring.

I'm not saying I tip Tszyu, I don't tip any to be honest.

Zab isn't quite as good, and the chin will let him down.

Moseley will get outboxed pretty comprehensively on his last display

Margarito might pose the most taunting physical challenges and we might see a negative Floyd, but he is so easy to hit.

Hatton might test his heart but I think will get marked up and will possibly even hurt by Mayweather (who will sustain his offense for the 12 rounds).

Cory Spinks will pose some different questions but will get outspeed.

Diego Corrales has already lost as has Castillo.

Maussa - I won't even go there.

Witter - Not even Witter's reflexes will be good enough I'm afraid, has the one punch power to do some damage but cannot see him getting off with anything.

I purposely didn't include DLH in the poll because I think its a little early to guess what he is doing (judging by his condition in his promotional events).

I picked Zab, he looked impressive in his last fight and he's probably the best one out there to match PBF's speed :)

I don't think Tszyu would stand much of a chance as Mayweather is just too damn fast. He would pick Tszyu apart like Judah was beginning to do in the first round of their bout, but Mayweather would not make the same mistake that Judah did. I may be completely wrong, but I think that Margarito has the size to just take it straight to Mayweather in the same manner, but more effectively than Castillo did in his first bout with Mayweather, and Margarito is a lot bigger and stronger. Daniel Santos boxed Margarito fairly easy, but Santos was bigger and certainly punches harder than Floyd does. Weight will eventually catch up with Mayweather and someone will knock him silly, which it may not be for another four, or five years before iot happens!

I don't know if all the voters were being serious but there could be some interesting opinions.

Who voted for Witter? Why do you give Witter the biggest chance?

And what of the person who voted for Sugar Shane? Why?

Not saying that your wrong, I put them on the poll cause I do respect them, but why did you vote for them?

I think Judah is a pretty good pick, he's bigger and harder hitting than Floyd, and has good movement and speed, though he's not as economic with his shots or as good defensively, his power could make up for that.

I think Hatton will make for a hard night's work, he won't be standing off mayweather like that, though a lot would depend on the refereeing, if the ref broke them very quickly, Hatton would have a hard time implementing his game plan, which would surely be to work him over on the ropes.

It was a dazzling performance by Mayweather, but let's not assume he is going to be able to do that to everyone else in the division.

I think Shane Mosleys a bad matchup for Mayweather. Certainly the lightweight Mosley would have been a hell of a matchup. He was just as quick, bigger and a harder puncher than Mayweather. Don't let this fight cloud your mind and make you think Floyd's invincible. It can't be said enough just how bad Gatti "fought". His tactics where abysmal. What the hell was he doing with his left hand by his waist. He couldn't even see Floyds right hand coming never mind having the reflexes to get out of its way. Totally ridiculus. He was trying to outbox the boxer. Not in a million years. Remember, even Phillip N'Dou gave Floyd a better fight than Gatti did. N'Dou was willing to take a few shots to get his own punches off. Same with Castillo. Floyd looks a million bucks if you just stand off him and let him dictate the fight.Gatti TOTALLY refused to gamble by throwing his own punches for fear of getting countered. Gatti fought a terrible fight. Easiest of Floyds career.

Yes I think that is a valid point, I thought Gatti would rush floyd at the bell and try and put him on the back foot, but he stood there pawing with the jab with his left hand by his side, and didn't really do much to change the fight from then on. His defence was non-existent, and he was completely intimidated, he gave up on the fight once he took a couple of combinations.

With space to just let his hands go and dictate distance, Floyd looks and is totally sensational, when pressure by a tough, disciplined and committed fighter like castillo, floyd looks a lot more human.

Floyd may continue to win at 140, and even beyond, but he will ave much harder nights work than this one.

My vote is obvious to any one and its Hatton the nest challenge for him. He wont fight Zab because they are friends (but hey money talks), but PBF will fornicate Hatton prison style all over the floor.

Pre Hatton fight I would have said Tzsyu. But I went for Hatton. Not so sure Hatton could beat him right now, bout of the names Stu listed, I think Hatton would give him the most trouble.

I would pick Judah, would be interesting to see how Mayweather wold cope with someone who is arguably as quick as him which i think Judah is. Back to the Mayweather-Gatti fight well i think we witnessed a genuine legend to be in action, Mayweather was awesome, i thought he would stop Gatti but i thought it would be more competetive. His punch picking and offensive work was first class, Mayweather-Hatton has to happen, i would certainly be there.

Looking down Mayweather's record i think he has been perfectly handled through his career, stepping up gradually against the right guys at the right time. He already has a lot of good names on there including Castillo, N'dou, Manfredy, Gerena, Genaro Hernandez, Carlos Hernandez, Chavez, Corrales, Gatti...these are good fighters he has fought no mugs.

yip agree, as for his hardes tmatch up i reckon Vitali would hurt mayweather if he caught him

in seriousness reckon hatton would do well to keep away from floyd but credit to him he seems to want the fight, so much for him being a proetected home town fighter if he fights Mayweather in the states.

Pereonslly i reckon it could a be a sprint to see who can sing up maussa to add another title to the mantlepeice.

that guy has to be the poorest custodian of a genuine belt for a while..

Agreed that Judah would be the toughest opponent as he could catch PBF enough times to knock him out. His speed would certainly neutralise Floyd and his power but overcome the Pretty Boys skills. Only thing is that these guys are very good friends so you have to wonder if this fight would happen.

I also think Hatton would be a tough fight for Mayweather but where would this happen? I think Hatton himself would be prepared to go to the US (but would Frank want this?) and Floyd said after the fight he'd love to fight him in Madison Square Garden which suggests to me that he wouldn't go to Manchester.

Don't forget that only a fight ago De Marcus Corley had PBF's legs going wobbly and that Mayweather tends to struggle most when he's put under good, consistent pressure and no doubt, Hatton brings the heat big style. Not saying he'll beat Floyd, but he won't let him sit there and throw three straight right hands at him like Gatti did.

I say Judah!

Why ?.

Simple really. Zab hasd speed and power and..........

With that Pickle head - if Mayweather cuts Zab then the Pickle juice will get in Mayweathers eyes and makew it difficult for him to avoid punches.

Still. PBF Ko 6 Zab Pickle head. :box:
