Why does he continue to fight...does he really need the money, because he certainly isn't getting any decent paydays by losing 4-rounders.

Probably still likes fighting, though judging by his physique recently, it's not for the training.

Julius's career is over soon and hes just dragging as much coin out of it as possible. Julius is not getting hurt in these contests either

Seems unlikely Julius is minted, or else why would he be rumbling with the Colin Kenna's of this world at age 40? Francis has long-since adopted a journeyman mentality to avoid punishment and earn money.
He did have his moments though that he can look back on with pride. 1999 was his peak year I think:
Jan - Knocks out unbeaten Pele Reid
Apr - Outpoints unbeaten Danny Williams
Jun - Outpoints Scott Welch in revenge win
Jan 2000 - Gets fight with Tyson

I hope he has made a good packet and with his experience it would be a tremendous waste for him to just fade away from the scene.
The journeyman he now obviously is just shows how well he and the rest of the unsung heroes of the game really know about this game.
The young hotshots get the record padding fodder and blow them away as expected but only the cream reaches the top and these guys are the ones they sharpen their skills on, they may lose but the skills they know to stick around with these top guys, and not get hurt are things we mere mortals overlook.
