any ideas anyone,because staying in range with your left hand low eating lead right hands sure wasn"t working.personally i think the fight was won before it started,never seen a fighter so subdued/un-focussed before a big fight-gatti even missed touching gloves after the referee"s instructions.

Tell you what I noticed, when the pyrotechnics accompanying gatti's ring walk went off, they really made him jump, he must have been very nervous.

I fully agree, he was gameplanless.

I pissed meself when Gatti jumped out of his skin as the bangs went off, he then threw a couple of punches to make it look like he meant to do it

Yeah I thought I was seeing things when he jumped at the explosions.

Game plan: Walk forward, take beating, pick up 3 mill cheque, move up to 147.

Right me too, I thought I was mistaken. The commentators actually started laughing, but then changed the subject and went 'ohhhhhhhhh, what a moment.' or something like that, but I think they clocked it.

Maybe Gatti really didn't think he could win this fight at all and was getting ready to move up, he sure didn't have a good time making weight.

It is terrible for boxing when you see these mega fights and fighters such as Trinidad and Gatti having no plan B whatsoever. It baffles me how this sort of thing can happen. Mayweather would probably always beat Gatti whichever way he were to fight but his performance and lack of a plan B the other night was pathetic.

I just think Gatti realized what a massive differential in speed there was. At that point basically figured whatever I do I'm getting my ass handed to me. So didn't bother trying anything else. As Teddy Atlas says a game quiter.

Or was Gatti psyched out, he sure didn`t want to meet Mayweather before the fight

They made me jump aswell - about 2 foot in the air.

Gatti had the look of a beaten fighter before the first bell had rung, I think he knew he was going to get out-boxed but when he started getting banged up by Mayweather he was shocked and didn't know how to react.

Gatti's never been known for having 2 plans for fighting a top fighter, when he fights people who aren't in his class he can outbox them or slug and look good against them but when he's against someone who's better skilled than him he doesn't know what to do and ends up walking onto punches, he did it against De La Hoya, Manfredy and Robinson.

From looking at the fight it seems Gatti was trying to utilise a jab to the body to bring himself in closer to Mayweather. When he got there though I don't think he had a follow up plan, he just let the ref seperate them.
