Ruiz-McBride For WBA Title?

I hear that Kevin McBride is in line for a WBA fight with long suffering Ruiz. How come? McBride beats a washed up shell formerly known as Tyson and now gets a title shot, the same happened for Danny Williams. What happened to working your way up to a title shot? This is a joke. McBride is barely British level, does everyone who beats a faded former champion get a shot?

Hey let's get Nigel Rafferty out of retirement and put him in with Riddick Bowe, when he wins maybe Klitschko will accomodate him next.

I reckon Williams should of fought Maskaev first like planned but cancelled then had a few more fights and see what he was like with them before taking that shot.

Absolute crock of shit, isn't it? Apparently the eliminator for the IBF title is taking place between Lyakhovich and an old woman who accidently tripped up Frank Bruno outside Tesco last Thursday

These rumours have been all over the Irish media over the past few weeks and McBride said that he has a verbal agreement with Ruiz since before the Tyson fight. The fact is that it would be one of only a very few fights that a promoter can sell involving Ruiz due to his Boston background and the huge Irish contingent that lives there who will come out in force for McBride

Personally i can't wait for these 2 highly skilled boxers to face each other, i'm expecting a great fight , i'm looking for Mcbride to be up on his toes throwing those lightning combinations of his.
Ruiz will be his usual exciting self, shooting out those precise shots and the one thing i like about Ruiz is the fact he never holds, the ref won't have nothing to do when these greats of the ring meet.

Good for McBride, I say.

This has to go down as an unwatchable fight.

Exactly, after beating Tyson it is bad enough but he was lined up before?! Based on what? His diligent performances in defeat to such illustrious names as Michael Murray and Louis Monaco?

It must surely have been in terms of a "if you beat Tyson do you fancy..." sort of a talk. Surely even the spin machine Dick Kong couldn't arrange a title fight on the basis of "Look everyone, this guy lasted longer against Tyson than Etienne. And he's white. And he's the new WBA #1." Ridiculous either way.
