Can anybody tell me where my thread has gone??????????????

This is no homepage of a military junta or Al-Kaida or is it? :o

This will be my last post here if there is no sensible reason for it!!!!!!

It was probably deleted because of the discussion that were in it.

is it now forbidden to discuss?

It could be enough to delete some posts that are not apropriate or whatever, but not the whole thread. is this the Prawda? :o

It was a thread that first was about the election of London but turned out to be a really heated discussion (to say the least) yesterday after the bombing. I thing it was ok to at least lock the thread.

I saw it about 10 or 11 last night. A guy called "Mr mousaka" or something said "you British are sluts - first you get the Olympics, then you get the bombs" and then laughed. I said "are you trying to be funny" before putting my fist through the moniter.

I can understand John Shep etc. removing threads like that. I can understand it being rather innevitable that a topic of this size would be discussed, even in a boxing forum, but some people are being absolute arseholes about the whole thing.

If a discussion goes too far away from the topic, you should as a Moderator "talk" with the ones who are maybe beside the good taste or whatever. But 4 days are gone and the one who deleted the thread wasn´t man enough to at least give his point of view. And this is like it was in the socialism..... :o I am disapponted and thinking about quitting this forum.

So quit then? Not that I want you to, but you keep threatening to do it and yet never do.

Does it really matter? Are you actually losing sleep over something so fornicating trivial?

And comparing the moderation of this forum to the screwed up way your country used to be run is a bit daft.

Please don't, Bubi.

Although I appreciate your sentiment I can entirely see why such an antagonistic / quasi-racist thread would get taken off. It was hugely inflammatory and away from boxing. There are often good off-topic discussion here but this one was just ridiculous.

It's a shame as it was an interesting thread that was hijacked by a handful of idiots but maybe it's more a clarion call for having an active 'off topic' forum than for leaving for ideological reasons.

Did I talk to you? MY country never used to be run like this. That´s the reason why I ask the moderators.

I don't know who deleted the thread, but thinking back to it, I agree 100% with whoever made the decision - it was the right thing to do.

What purpose was it serving? It started off fine, but by Thursday AM it had degenerated into vicious insults and heated debate on the pros and cons of war in Iraq & terrorism in general.

I left it, as I had other things on my mind that day, as did most people I guess - but I can completely understand if admin or a moderator decided to remove it.

I very rarely delete threads on the UK forum - only if there's 10 or so Hatton topics, or something like that - then I'll take off the ones with least traffic.

Likewise if a thread is truly moronic, or insulting - but unlike the current forum, it's rare you have anything like that here.

It would have been nicer to delete the designated posts, make a comment so that the original theme can be discussed again.
