Yeah, and he was down twice and hurt bad, so that was some comeback in round 3 - he nearly decked Jones. Great fight.

The third round was possibly the best domestic round ive ever seen, it swung from moore gaining control to jones putting him down and pumelling him for a good min and a half after (including another knockdown). I was literally screaming for moore to throw back or clinch. With about 15 seconds of the round to go moore regained balance and laid a peach on jones chin, the two proceeded to pumell each other for 10 seconds almost non stop. jones made the mistake of simply throwing loads of shots trying to finish moore rather than picking his shots.

jones took control in the first, moore couldnt get in range at all.
Moore came back in the second and began landing heavy shots.

moore felt his way back into the fourth and again regained confidence and found his range.
moore began to overpower jones in the 5th again landing heavy shots to head and body, looks as though jones peaked too soon trying to finish moore in the third.
moore takes control and jones goes down, he goes down not from a single KAYO punch but from accumulation and what looks like tiredness.

Sounds like it was a hell of a fight. To bad I couldn't see it........ :x

Great report Wales, I just watched the same fight and can't add a word, except to say good performance by Ali the Assasin on the undercard. I saw Ali draw with David Barnes in Barnsley and thought he had reason to feel he might have won. He had a great crowd with him that night and they sang again tonight. Looking forward to seeing where Ali goes from here.

Great fight, Jones nose was smashed and seemed to lose his edge after that, i wouldn't say bottle as he was very courageous and fought back. He had Moore down twice and expended a lot of energy trying to finish him off. Moore was metnally a tough guy and so physically strong he seemed to break Jones heart by weathering the storm and coming back. A great fight, round 3 agreed was a cracker and one of the best.

cracking fight and jones showed he has one helluva chin - amazing how he took those big left hands in the third without going down and i think he kinda punched himself out after the third but of course the big shots he was taking contributed to his end.

Awesome fight. I saw Jones stick two notable right hands through in the first round and thought he must have been working on that as part of a strategy - jab, move, and stick the right hand. But as the fight went on he seemed to revert to his old way of fighting Moore - no jab, trying to hit him with a left hook coming in (which mostly clipped), backing straight up and not looking to hold when Moore got close. I had a feeling this would happen, which is why I said in the prediction thread he would have to suck it up and come back strong at one point.

I think Maurice Core did a good job and told him the right things, but it just wasn't to be. If Jones had jab, jab, jab, jab, jab, jabbed Jamie constantly - even weak, ineffecual jabs - it would have tamed him to some extent, and Jones could have tried to box, move, stick the right hand and take control. I was looking for him to do that after getting knocked down in round 5, but after he went down again I kind of wanted him to stay down (and not because that was my prediction for the fight ), because you could tell from there he didn't really want anymore. Can't blame him as he had took so many shots flush, and trying to move around and suck up energy with a big broken roman nose like that is going to be hell. He was also quite marked up and I'm glad it didn't go into the later rounds.

I actually think he had a point in his dressing room interview about the potential of the fight being stopped in his favour. I have seen a hometown stoppage for very less than when Jamie went down the second time. From a fan's point of view you can't complain, though, because that was a (British) hall of fame round.

I really thought Jones had it in the bag

He had his nose busted up real bad and this made a big difference, I don`t see why he should retire as was hinted...he almost won the fight and if they ever met again I`m sure he wouldn`t be the big under-dog as before, I think he was the heavier handed of the two...but suffered because of that lazy low right-hand of his.

Jones showed enough last night to prove he is good enough to carry on

I was ringside and it was my first pro show. How spoiled was I!!! First of all Dawson showed a lot of balls and a hell of a lot of heart to get up and go on to stop Moran in the 4th then the Moore v Jones fight. The 3rd round like some other people have said was possibly the best or one of the best rounds of boxing I have ever seen. Absolutley awesome. Was sitting next to moores family and it looked like the biggest emotional rollercoaster they have been on

Credit to Moore though, he recovered well from those knockdowns, because he was all at sea.

I'm not sure Moore can go much above British level which isn't such a bad thing, because there are some good fights to be made there. Nice to see the belt meaning so much to the boxer as well.

Yeah, Moore-Jones was a brutal battle. I thought Jones had it in the bag too in the third. He obviously felt Moore was a beaten man and went for broke but blew it. He'd shot his bolt and Moore then managed to gain control and bludgeon Jones to defeat.

I've heard reports that the Moore may be moved towards an EBU title crack.
