Audley Harrisons next fight.

According to several websites and the whispers floating around the sunny streets of Leicester are Audley Harrison will fight next on August 11 on the "Best Damn Sports Show Period's" monthly show promoted by Goossen Tutor.
His opponet is the Heavyweight dangerman TBA.

Well at least he's staying active. The sooner the opponent is announced though the better, because better opponents need more notice than a week or two.

I would prefer Donald out of those jokers. If Audley plays the Fields, its more likely to be Sedrick than Tye, not sure if that's preferable.

Being grateful for small mercies at least with the fight being in the US and on ESPN it's unlikely the opponent will be somebody we've never heard of. Only a small mercy as I say, because we've all heard of Marcus Rhode and Louis Monaco.

He needs to step it up soon.
People are getting antsy
He already has lost hype, and has people downplaying him. But one good win can change this, especially at heavyweight where they really need some fresh faces.
But time is not on his side, so lets get this train moving Audley.

I don't think Smith is the worst opponent in the world. He'll give A-Force some good rounds and I'll get to see a little more of him besides the jab factory that was in the last fight. Hopefully after this though, he'll venture into the top 20 or so for his next opponent........

Was just today reading about some of the US '84 olympic gold medallists, then started thinking about their opposition as they developed - it gradually became better until they were considered ready to challenge. In Holyfield's case he was fighting a Qawi in his 8th? pro fight for the cruiser title
This is all a mjor worry - Harrison is 35 now and doesn't seem interested in anything resembling top opponents. Is this the way forward for high profile olympians, especially the bigboys? (too much money to begin with so why bother fighting the best???)

He said he'd step it up around his 20th fight if I recall correctly, its only his 19th fight and I dont think a fight with Smith is that bad when you bear in mind he's just back from a year long layoff.
Give the guy a break for fucks sake, his opposition is as good as the rest of the heavyweight prospects' 19th fights.
Brock fought this guy in his 20th fight and was taken 10 rounds.

The point is Audleys getting old for a fighter creeping up on 34 and he has shown no inclination/balls to get his ass in gear.

He'll be 57 by the time he's ready at his current rate.
I could understand if he was 24, but he's not, he's 34 & it's around about this time that your reflexes start going.

Audley needs to stay away from anyone with a half decent workrate or else that "0" will be blown out of the water.
It wouldn't surprise me to see him call out Thomas Hearns.
