Anybody tell me more about this Super Middleweight. He seems to be progressing at a very slow rate and can anyone tell me how is he the English champion, Boxrec claim he is Scottish.

I have never seen him in action, what is he like?

Maybe his manager can't get him fights. Just checked his record and he has another young pro called Paul Buchanan who is making equally slow progress:

Ryan in in fact scottish and went to university in sunderland if am correct??
After he graduated ( was at uni for 4 years) he decided to take up pro boxing ( had been a half decent amature) to pay off student loans and overdrafts ect,

Im not sure but if he was at uni in sunderland for 4 years?? and then boxed as a pro for 3 years before he fought for english title, would that mean he could then be eligble for english title as he had been in country for 7 years??? am just speulating but this could be the case.
but he is defo scottish as i read article and there is articles from scottish papers about him stuck up in my clubs wall.

so anyone confirm what i already said? or anyone seen him in action at all?? i guess he must be ok, maybe he will get moved on this year?

hes still young at 22/23 16 wins with 1 loss to the usefull dean hickman hes with ingle and warren. wonder what plans warren has for him???

I must have seen McCallister's debut because I think that would have been on the undercard of a Harrison fight, against McCulloch or Chacon or something if my timing's right. Sorry to say I completely missed him tho.

His record is quite interesting. He's obviously not being overly protected taking the Hickman fight into account, and a good 10-rounder in there already - Masters titles are a bit of an Ingle favourite I think.

Don't know anything about Kerr's academic background I'm afraid!

been ordered to fight dean cockburn in defence of his english title.

I know young Ryan and he is a cracking young fighter.

I saw Kerr v Hearn , and Ryan wasn't that impressive he seemed to have problems with the pressing tactics of Hearn. I think his lack of a knockout punch is going to limit his chances in the supermiddle division.

I've read that he may be going down to Middle, think this may be a good move for him.

He is a great prospect (did you see how much bigger Hearn looked)

He has already moved to middle, his second fight at middle is 12th May at the York Hall against Matthew Thirwell

He deffo beat hearn (imo) but was robbed(although the rounds shown on TV were very deceptive, he won every round that wasn't shown) Jim Watt and Glen McCrory etc were all shocked that he didn,t take the decision.

He has also only started to train full time recently so I expect to see him get even better now.

I agree that he won the Hearn fight, but you could see that Ryan wasn't fighting in the right division. He's certainly throwing himself in at middle taking on Thirwell. Thats a tough one for him.

Thirwell seems to be taking his boxing more seriously now, but then if Ryan is now training full time so is he.
Thirwell has the better punch , but can be a bit lethergic as well, so maybe Kerrs better boxing skills will be the difference.
I'd still have to favour Thirwell at the moment as he seems to be in good form and has the stronger punch.

ryan is a great wee boxer but isnae the most comited to training for sure. he is a scot but can box for the english title because he lives in england. thats all you need. if an englishman lived in scotland he could fight for a scottish title nae probs. you can find out more about him and mcallister on http://www.scottishboxing.co.uk website. i think the new weight will suit ryan but he is no a ko kind of guy so size isnae a big issue. wee tam

the english,scottish,welsh,southern etc are all area titles so as stated above if you live/fight from a certain area then you can fight for that area title.
