Im sure there was another post covering this topic but couldnt find it. So whats everyone's take on this fight. I fancy haye by ko inside six rounds. I mean hobson was downed twice by lee swaby whose no puncher. But to be fair i havent seen that much of hobson and dont really know what his chin's like tho his stamina is unquestionably good. I saw hobson vs scott and wasnt too impressed. Anyone reckon its worth stickin a few bob on haye?

Not many can stay on their feet when Haye lands

2nd rnd KO to Haye :x

But if Hobson can keep it tight and make Haye give it some till mid-rounds

Carl Thompson is super tough, iron willed and more importantly..used to catching alot before he gets the chance to give some back...but can Hobson :-?

I just see Hobson being too brave and firing back when he gets caught instead of keeping it tight and just making Haye work.

Tough fight to call, I favour Haye for an early KO win but if Hobson is still there by the 6th then he is the favourite.

Can't disagree with that. In fact, I'd say it's the majority view in British boxing. It's interesting to note, however, that people are generally considering this fight in terms of what Haye can't do, rather than what Hobson can do. The general consensus is that if Haye will lose the fight, it's because he has no stamina. Not enough credit for Hobson being able to last the fight, if you ask me.

That aside, I pick Haye in 4. I like Hobson, I think he's a very solid pro, but I think Haye will land often enough early to end it, probably with Hobson still on his feet. Haye has that quick-handed style that can make an opponent look in worse trouble than he really is.

I will give loads of credit if Hobson takes Haye's shot, but lets just wait till the fight before I give either credit.

Hobson TKO10 over a gasping Haye.

Hobson has never been blown away, is a big, hungry, seasoned lump with plenty of confidence, reach, experience, stamina and chin advantages.

Sure Haye is dangerous, but Hobson to me completes this job late on.

Haye cant fix his stamina problems against Delaney.

Hobson can be dominated though, he isn't a dominant fighter in my view as he showed by the respect he gave Scott's power he always looked over wary when Scott lumbered forward and didn't attempt to physically dominate him, i think Haye's speed and power will keep him backed up and on the defensive throught the early rounds on the way to a 4/5 round KO loss IMO.

All plausible Steve, as usual. But Hobson continues to grow in each fight and he beat Scott with plenty to spare. But I do understand your point about him not quite imposing himself as he could.

I'm not saying a sensational Haye victory isn't possible, because clearly it is, I just think on balance this fight suits Hobson more than most seem to think and I cannot get the image of Haye breathing out his belly button after 5 minutes versus Old Man River out of my head.

So most people think Haye will blitz Hobson, but in the long run it can't be doing Haye any good having all these early wins, when he gets in with anyone of the upper class again like Thompson he gunna be up shit creek again.

I agree with most the Haye will win, but surely Haye can dominate the fight i.e. try to outbox Hobson instead of blowing him out in the early rounds, he's gunna have to do it one day.

If nothing else, Haye looks a world class puncher, and he's no doubt classy enough to catch Hobson early and often.
Haye KO5

I don't think Haye's that great a puncher, people are making him out to be a CLEAN KO ARTIST. When has he had someone sleeping?

He punches strong that's it. Having said that, I think he will beat Hobson by TKO...

Well he punches his weight, that's for sure. Don't think I'd want to see someone hit any harder than Glenn Kelly was...
