Hi people, Valuev was supposed to be fighting Akinwande, but the fight seems to be off...anyone knows who he is to be fighting next?...

Afraid not. The Akinwande fight was called off quite a while ago - not sure why, because there doesn't seem a replacement for Valuev.

I think a shot at a title - WBA I would have thought - is not far off now - just depends on whether Ruiz-McBride is going to happen (a treat for us all I'm sure)

I'd maybe suggest Valuev's next opponent would be connected to an eliminator, but these things are becoming so ridiculous now I don't think that would be necessary.

a guy who works at ´Sauerland told that he has to fight an eliminator in autumn but the WBA hasn´t anounced it yet. Without the intrigue of fornicating asshole Don King he would be #1 at the WBA and had to fight Ruiz. IMO this asshole wants the loser of Rahman-Barett to fight Valuev.......

What a wonder: Rahman is #3, Barrett is #4............

That be his toughest fight yet either Barrett or Rahman. I only seen his last few fights, I think it will be very hard to beat him.

Of course he will be fighting another bum. That's all he does. That's why he is so big, he keeps feeding on bums.

Vidoz wasn't a bum, he's gone on to have some success since too.

I'm still a bit too suspicious of him to jump on the Valeuv train as I feel it could well become a train wreck when he steps up! Something tells me he won't fight again if he gets beaten (particularly if it's by KO). I just think he lacks the skills to be the best (in an already weak division) but it's probably just the big (tall) boys who have a good chance of beating him. Imagine Valeuv V Toney, that would be hilarious to see. A 5'9 fat ex-Middleweight against a 7' giant!

I disagree, you mentioned in your other post you are reluctant to jump on the Valuev train which is fair enough but saying he has only fought bums is ridiculous, guys like Bob Mirovic and Marcelo Dominguez were good stepping stones and tough fellas, he dealt well with Paulo Vidoz who shook him up and is certainly no bum. Guys like Levin and Etienne are both vulnerable but have top flight experience and Gerald Nobles was an undefeated guy. How has he been fed bums of late? He hasn't, i think his career progression is okay considering how raw and novice like he was when he turned pro he is maturing into a contender.

The WBA will announce together with his new ratings for June who has to fight Valuev in an Eliminator in autumn.

Couldn't find the thread about the WBC/Vitali's next 13 mandatory's so I'll whap it here.

IBF have ordered Wlad Klitchko and Sam Peter to figtht an eliminator for the #1 spot. So Peter now has 2 eliminator's lined up.

I think Peter would opt for Wlad Klitschko, it's well known now that Klitschko has poor stamina and cannot take a punch, i expect Peter to walk right through him.

Hard to believe Klitchsko is the same guy who so brutally destroyed Monte Barrett that night on the... Lewis - Botha undercard? I remember being put off whatever I was eating by the tap-like flow of blood out his nose. And look how thing's have turned out now, five years later! Barrett is probably more of a contender than Klitchsko.

Valuev should fight Audley Harrison... then we can forget about the loser

Exactly, when Klitschko destroyed Ray Mercer i thought he was the second coming, shame how it all fell apart.

Actually I think it was from a very nasty cut caused by the knockout blows, but it was pouring horribly onto the canvas you are right.

Valeuv would take a lot of body shots from Toney! Only has to land on the chin though not like he'd have to touch the top of his head.

Valuev will defend his WBA Intercontinental title on the october 1st Sauerland card. Haussler is on the card, so is Povetkin (he also fights on the september 3rd card). Sam is off the card.
