ITV 1 return, ends with a code red bomb or fire alert. Been a cracking show otherwise.
Even generally liked Jim Rosenthal's commentatory.

Hope everything's ok, obviously.
Agreed Stu, a good return to the mainstream in my opinion. Hatton has a nice career as an analyst/commentator waiting when he hangs up the gloves, I think he's very good.

Of course I too hope everything is okay.
I liked the show, I thought Rawling or Holdsworth were doing the commentary, on todays form Rosenthal will be just fine. He was really faultless no errors, no Howard Eastwood.
I liked the team, I thought my dream team would involve Rosenthal in the Matt Smith role and Gary Newbon doing the interviews - but this worked fine.

Again, hope everything is OK up at Bolton. Even if it's a false alarm, better to be safe.
I thought it was a good show by ITV tonight, very impressed. I'm also another to say that I thought Ricjy Hatton was superb as a commentator and summariser, very thoughtful, articulate and good opinions.
Good stuff.

Matt Smith has really impressed me. I don't know whether he's a fight fan or not, but he's certainly hiding it well if he isn't, unlike some. *coughJohnInverdalecough*
Rosenthal was better than I'd have thought possible as well.

All in all it was a very impressive show by ITV and I agree with Stu that Rosenthal was suprisingly good as a commentator, Matt Smith has impressed me, Hatton's got his next career sorted out and Mcguigan is and always be the best analysyt ever.
I hope the bomb scare is just a hoax and everyone is OK.

Personally I could live without Jim Rosenthal, but the rest of the gang I liked. I can only hope that McGuigan will be giving Ian Darke's phone number to the head of ITV Sport in the near future.

I've heard rumours that it might happen next spring when Darke's contract with Sky runs out.

yeah, good show; only thing is i thought the announcer might be the brother of that guy who does supermarket sweep!!! forget his name, lol. All the talk about Hatton fighting outside of Manchester, why did'nt they get Michael Buffer out of USA to MEN arena for Hatton vs Tszyu???

Very petty I know but I wish ITV would play the old full version of the theme song. With the lead guitar bit when its would say (a cue the guy in training) "Matt Skelton Champion" and then cut to the other guy training with "Matt Skelton Challenger".
That was the thing that really used to get me buzzing as a youngster and still would now.

Speaking of commentators. Im getting fornicating sick of Ian Darkes snide comments while watching non British fighters. He never does it to British fighters for fear of someone saying something to him I bet. Two faced bastard. He judges someone early then berates them for the rest of the fight. He was on fire during the Montiel fight and also the Harris fight a few weeks ago.

I think ITV will need to have settled on a commentator by then. Also Darke gets a bit of footie to commentate on too so maybe his bread is fairly well buttered at Sky.

ITV did well but a bit less hype and more action needed, asking the same question three times in different ways is a clear time filler when showing more undercard fights would suffice.

Ricky "Er.." Hatton should not be on the mic. I'd be surprised if he is next time.
