I thought he looked the goods myself. Not a lot more to say really, except I look forward to his next fight.

Yes he looked impressive, every punch hurt Bailey. He looked even faster aswell.

Much better than Audley's debut - dare I say he looked a little bit special.

One question though, did Amir touch down ever so briefly shortly after I think it was Bailey's second KD (just when the corner through in the towel). Not saying he is chinny or anything, just for stat purposes - I thought he did.

I wondered that, but on the replay McGuigan stated he slipped on the towel that had been thrown in. You couldn't see his foot, but he didn't look hurt at all so I think it was a slip.

Yes a great coup, thought he was a little underused. Would have like to have seen him maybe talking in between some of the rounds of the Skelton vs Krench fight - maybe after the 4th or 5th as he does (or should I now say did) for Sky.

Behave, he didn't even stop the fight when Bailey's cornerman was in the ring - I can't believe he didn't notice, but he pretended to.

Khan looks like he could be a big puncher when he matures a bit more, he's very fast and showed great composure.
The only negatives I can see are that his hands are held quite low at times, his chin comes up in the air after he throws the left hook and he sometimes stands a bit square on when fighting at close quarters but they're all things that will improve with time.

I thought Phil Edwards the ref put in his usual bog standard performance not only in the Khan fight but in the Foster Jnr and Concepcion fights, he could and should have stopped the fights a bit earlier than he did.

Khan has great skills.... but his chin will let him down...

Good hand and foot speed.

I thought he looked good, but lets be honest he had nothing to beat, it was also interesting to see Eugene Maloney in bailey's corner, brother of course to frank who happens to work with FW.

was it Eugene who threw the towell in?

I was a little disapointed for the heavyweights, a British heavyweight title fight being chief support to a pro debutant was a little bit disrespectful.

i can also remember FW slating A-farce for top billing his own promotions, still it looks lke4 ITV are going to throw a lot of cash into Khan's career, I just hope its on the undercard of quality title fights. I couldnt stand the BBC's coverage of Audley, It was like a documentary, When will he step in a class
when will he fight a good opponent
when will he fight for a title
can he take a punch
Can he give a punch

It was one big long joke, Please ITV, Dont fall into the same trap.

i was very surprised about the ref not noticing the towel coming in; Kahn looked fast, and his footwork was impressive.

No kd he it was a deffinate slip, and Warren went crazy at the ref not noticing the towel.

I don't want to put too much of an aim for Amir...but i'm gonna....he could be the next De La Hoya.

He was very rushed in what he done tonight, very rushed. But that's just nerves and I'm sure he'll settle down. I look forward to seeing him fight again. - Also fair play to him for the gesture with the flag with London written on it.

The ref doesn't have to accept the towel being thrown in. Ive seen it kicked out before.

When he goes on his toes and "dances", he looks better than most domestically but doesn't flo like the likes of Mayweather, Moseley etc.

Ha ha, its his first pro fight and it lasted about 120 seconds. Ive seen Floyds early fights and he didn't really look as good. Floyd looked more mechanical and sure as hell didn't look to have the same kind of punching power Khan has.

Good start for Khan i say. Showed good power and was very fast on his feet. I look forward to his next fight. Give him time and im sure he could flow well like a Mayweather but its early days so ill watch patiently

Hard to judge a guy on less than a round, but I thought he looked good. Didn't panic when Bailey rushed him, just moved out of the way and fired back. The two best attributes he displayed as an amateur were his movement and handspeed: both were evident tonight, plus some impressive power.

Still showed some of his sloppier traits from his days in the vest: i.e. a bit rushed, chin still a bit too high. But minor points, compared to the positives. Very impressive overall, looking forward to his bout in September. He could be a nightmare to match, if he carries on like this.

He has alreay proven he needs better fighters in the ring than Bailey. There isn't any real need to be overly conservative with him at this time.

Was impressed with Khan. His speed, power and footwork all looked sound for a touted super-prospect. The thing that most impressed was his composure when Bailey rushed him.

Thats very true, and as I said Dancing and circling isn't going to win you fights and isn't something he does badly - it is something I've noticed long before this fight though. Its not important though.

He looks the business.

He did exactly what he should have and what was supposed to do. It's way, way to early to mention him along side of De La Hoya, or Mayweather. The first two knockdowns looked like the punches were not hard at all, but then again, look at what he was fighting. Khan looks to be very fast, whether he is a very hard puncher won't be determined until he steps the competition up, hell Pernell Whitaker had six knockouts in his first seven fights, but I hope he is, nothing better than having a new knockout artist will skill. Khan certainly doesn't need to go against another fighter like the one he faced tonight, or he'll just end up with a lot of knockouts and not much experience, but hell it's only his first fight...no need to rush him. I'll look forward to seeing him again!

Although he obviously won't go through as many weight divisions!

I agree with the comment about not feeding him too many easy fights aka Audley Harrison, because this will have the same result as Audley had with the BBC....instead of encouraging the sport it will turn people off.

This first match we can overlook the fact the brave David Bailey was a novice non-punching super-featherweight giving a lightwelter a bit of a gee.....lets just hope Amir gets to fight a more competitive fight before his tenth fight when the public will have long stopped tuning in
