Is this fight official? It's on the boxrec schedule for early August. If so, it's a good step and an interesting fight for both guys.

Behave yourself, it's just another Audley disappointment. Who the **** is Terry Smith anyway? Just some nobody with a good statistical record, and the only recognisable name on that record being a UD loss to Calvin Brock.

Sounds like Brock beat him convincingly aswell, judging by the cards. He might not be too bad but I thought Chambers said to expect a McCline level opponent next.

No doubt we'll be hearing soon from Aud why Smith is like McCline.

Actually aside from BoxRec speculation has Smith been confirmed as Harrison's next opponent? There's no mention of it on his personal site, and it's not been mentioned at SecondsOut.com.

It aint been officially confirmed but neither wa Davis or Bonin before we had been talking about it for a week or so.

I am disappointed in Smith as the opponent, Audley needs to knock this guy out convincingly.

Well, I've seen Smith fight a few times, and I saw him against Brock. He gave Calvin the toughest fight of his career next to McCline (but I'm not sure that says much). At any rate, Terry Smith is a MUCH better opponent than Robert Davis.

That's fair enough, you've seen the guy fight and if you reckon it's a step up for Audley we have to take you at your word. Problem is though it can't be all that much of a step, will he challenge Harrison at all, and will a win over Smith mean much in the great scheme of things? The fact remains Brock is the only name on his record.

I think pretty much everyone who's seen Smith (ie. mostly the Americans) so seem to think quite highly of Smith, and rate him certainly a step up from Davis.) If he does what Brock couldn't and stops Smith then that's a good result.

I still want to see someone who's going to make Audrey do something tho - make him work harder and with more urgency rather than working like some intricate surgeon who's carrying out major surgery with just one scalpel

Terry Smith is James Toney's primary heavyweight sparring partner.
That is why he has some skills and heart.
Apparently, he is the only heavyweight sparring Partner of JTs that keeps coming back for more, even though he gets tore up 90 percent of the time. (Plus he has to deal with James throwing tampons at him and calling him a bitch and what not)

Terry Smith could quite possibly beat Fraudley Harrison.
He's a step up for Audley.

His fight with Brock was somewhat competitive, but the word is that he was still hurting from the gym wars with JT when he took the Brock fight, and didn't have a full tank or arsenal available to him yet, recovery-wise.

I'm not really a fan of either fighter, but since Audley had gotten SOOOO much hype in the beginning, I would like to see him lose, since he has never stepped it up after all this time.

I believe Smith will be the first opponent for Audley who would honestly have a shot to beat him. The fight against Brock was certainly competitive as one judge scored it 96-94 and I think the NBC commentators had the same score. He has heart and he's always in top shape. His notable fights are against Brock; a draw against Kendrick Releford (who is much better than his record indicates); a win over Fernely Feliz, a decent journeyman, that was the main event of an ESPN card; and a 22 second KO over Sione Asipelli, another journeyman, primarily a cruiserweight, who went the distance with Johnny Nelson, James Toney, and Guillermo Jones.

Overall, I'd say Smith's level of opposition is a slight step behind Audley's, but he's also had trouble landing fights.

If the fight occurs, I'd be interested in seeing it.

Its good to see that Audley is keeping himself busy, hopefully he can now keep injury free and build up some momentum. This opponent is acceptable IMO considering its only been 2 months since Audleys last outing.

Audley wants another fight in October and another in December of this year, so expect the McCline level opponent in one of those , hopefully the October one.

Its difficult to comment accurately on Smith without seeing him fight, but he looks to be a step up from Davis and probably Audleys best opponent to date. It should be a good test for Audleys stamina as Smith has never been stopped and Smith looks to have a decent dig on him judging from his record , he also supposedly rocked Calvin Brock a few times before losing on points 96-94, 97-93, 98-92.

A good performance here and hopefully a stoppage from Audley will increase his positioning in the HW division and lead to better opportunities.

According to my local paper (San Jose Mercury News) Harrison and Andre Ward will share a card together in San Jose ,CA. Who their fighting is unknown at this point

On the last FOX Best Damn Boxing Show, it was also announced the next show would feature Harrison and Ward. That was the show in which Soliman defeated Zuniga.

I don't think Smith has officially been confirmed as the opponent yet which seems a little odd at less than 3 weeks from the fight.

Sounds okay to me if he is keeping busy, I think it is a shame that it is unlikely any of these fights will be picked up by main stream networks in the UK.

I would like to see audley in against Peters by the end of the year because he has a good punch but is the kind of fighter he should be Knocking over if he wants to be oppertating at world class.

My biggest consern remains age though how old is audley now.

His last fight was on Sky. It may not be a good channel.

I thought Smith would have been an ok challenge. He did lose a UD to Brock, but the fight was competitive. Smith is out for an opponent next month (I'm not sure why) and 20-4-1-12ko Wiggins is the replacement. F Harrision and his bad choice of fighters. I've lost what little respect I had for him.............

Wiggins shows up to win, but he's not as good a challenge as Terry Smith would've been.
