How do you think a Welterweight clash would have gone between Don Curry and Shane Mosely?
For me I think that the fast combination punching of the Welterweight Mosley could have caused Curry some problems.
However I see the tight defence of a peak Curry being able to block most of Mosleys shots on his arms and shoulders etc, surviving a few early scares but as the rounds go on landing his own powerfull shots to shake and even drop Mosley to take a points victory or maybe late rounds stoppage.
Would Curry be too hot for the latest Sugarman?
What do you think fight fans?

Never liked Curry. Fought like a stiff. Way over rated. Mosley is the same way........boring fight of nobodys.

Mosley and Curry, nobodies????
I can't agree with that.
Both very good fighters in my opinion.

He's just trying to wind you up!... he's running away from Barry on the current scene so obviously thought he'd spread a bit of happiness over here!.
Ringsider, go home and suck some more eggs!.

To me, Sugar Shane only had one great fight at welter and that was with DeLaHoya. In the Rivera fight, he showed little defense and after DeLaHoya he stopped going to the body which is what is his best trait.
That said, the Mosley that beat DeLaHoya would wear down Curry. Even if the shots landed on the arms, Mosley went to the body with such passion that he would beat up Curry's arms until Curry couldn't protect the body anymore. Shane's speed advantage and powerboxing style, going in the pocket and out in a flash, would break Curry down and he would win by late knockout or decision.
The one-punch, head hunter version of Mosley would be timed and KO'd by Curry rather easily. Shane would dart in and...Down goes Mosley! Down goes Mosley!

Actually it's a good match up.... I'd go for Curry... I think his power would be too much for Mosely who was at his best at Lightweight... Curry by ko in about 8 I'd say.

I think a prime Curry (circa 1984-85) would patiently and convincingly demolish Shane. I'd go a step further and say that even Marlon Starling would be too hot for Sugar to handle. Those 2 Curry-Starling fights are 80s classics.

Curry vs Hwang was a good fight as well... Curry was never the same fighter after the Honeyghan bout...

Very true.
I have never been able to quite decide wether that was a mental thing due to the beating Honeyghan gave him, or a physical thing due to years a weight making problems and a very long amatuer career finally catching up with him.

I think it was perhaps both... he seemed to lack confidence and he was visibly shaken in a few fights against boxers whom previously you wouldn't have thought would trouble him. Probably his best showing post Honeyghan was against Mccullam... he seemed to be doing well till he was koed. I've also heard he had drug probs, not sure whether that was while he was still fighting or afterwards....
