I guess the concensus would be that this would be a mismatch at heavyweight, but that probably depends on how you rate a peak Tyson and an old Larry Holmes.
I never saw Spinks at his best at light-heavy, so i'm curious - which way would this go if it was made at cruiserweight? I know Spinks never fought at the weight, but if he could skip a division to fight Holmes, I think its a fair question.

Holyfield was naturally the bigger man but I think Spinks was a better Lightheavy than Holyfield was a Cruiser.

Spinks' height and reach at Light heavy allowed him to keep opponents away so he could dish out The Jinx. i think those advantages aren't going to be quite so prominent here. I like Spinks against big Haevyweights who alck mobility but against someone who can move he's going to take too many and he's not going to be able to hide.

I liek Spinks a lot but I don't think he wins this one. I have him as a top 5 Light Heavy but this mission may be too much.

Michael Spinks-Evander Holyfield at cruiserweight is a fascinating matchup. At first I automatically thought Holyfield would win easily. However, after thinking about it, it's not such an easy call.
They both had close victories over Qawi and Holmes. Howver the Holmes version that Holyfield fought was even more past his peak than the Holmes that Spinks fought.
They would be evenly matched in most areas. Holyfield was a very exciting fighter as a cruiser and would probably try to pressure Spinks. Spinks was a very smart fighter and would have some answers for him.
This may have been an ideal weight class for Spinks, who wasn't a natural heavyweight.
This might be be situation in which the exciting rounds going to Holyfield and the boring rounds go to Spinks. If they fought 10 times, they may each win 5, with 1 TKO each.
