This seems a pretty good little division at the moment, fair play to SKY for showing three major fights at the weight recently...Martin Castillo-Hideyasu Ishihara, Fernando Montiel-Everth Briceno and Tokuyama-Kawashima III.

Who do you fancy is the best of the lot? Montiel and Castillo are the better boxers it seems and Tokuyama can box too but seems to run out of steam late on. Briceno pushed himself into the mix with a good display while Kawashima and Ishihara are both game and tough but limited.

I would like to see Montiel-Castillo next, Castillo probably impressed me the most of the bunch. Any thoughts?

I would like to see Briseno vs Montiel II, I thought Briseno won the bout on the Hopkins vs Taylor undercard.

I like Castillo out of them and think he will take the lot.

I do rate Montiel but stylewise I think he suits Damean Kelly the best, who in my opinion, belongs in world class.

Castillo IS the best in this division despite Skys rankings, though I do rate Montiel. Castillo has the skills Montiel has, but he's also more a warrior and can fight in the trenches which is where Montiel can struggle. Superfly is amazing. Virtually the entire top ten are known fighters. Castillo is top 10 P4P imo. The fact Castillo beat Mayweather as an amatuer demonstrates exactly what level his skills are on.

You thought Briceno beat Montiel Stu ? Gimme a break, Briceno put forth a brave effort but imo he was clearly outclassed. Jim Watt knew the score while Ian Darke was harping on about Briceno's effort and scoring rounds based on that alone. If Briceno landed often enough for rounds to be scored for him then Montiel would have went down and at least been a bit more beat up at the end. Montiel had a scare, but he clearly won imo.

It was very close, Jim Watt (who you said knew the score) only had it for Montiel by a point.

I think the fight was very Larios vs McCullough 1 esque in which the better work was coming from the champion, but more work was coming from the challenger.

It was a tough round to score - no more than 2 points either way I think.

It was a good fight and one I'd like to see again.

I was watching the Super flys on saturday, and was thinking maybe Dale Robinson would be suited to this division if he could get the extra couple of pounds off.
Dale seems a little bit small for full bantamweight to me.

Was going to start a thread about Dale, Its gone very quiet with him I am just hoping he's okay after his tough fight with Power.

Dale is sound and is going back down to flyweight....when he has sorted out the british and euro title at fly he`ll maybe fight Kelly for the IBO if its all still around and happening...he has beat no`s 5 6 and 7 in euro ratings already.1 win he`s in at no 4 in europe....thats his proper weight, and then he can acheive full potential instead of messing around as has been for last 12 months....

Nice to hear that, although I thought he had the decision vs Power it was clear as you (and I'm assuming its Chris here) mentioned at the start of the show "Dale is a strong Flyweight, and average strength Bantam".

Kelly vs Robinson would be a hard match for me watch as I admire the skills of both, currently I would make Kelly the favourite but maybe (as you are suggesting) we haven't seen the best of Robinson.

I think it was fair result for the champion to get the nod, but I do believe like yourself that Briceno thoroughly deserves a rematch or a shot at another belt.

Fight 2? Very close fight that was. I am glad Forrest got the nod because he was the champ and didn't really deserve to lose (which I think Watt said) but it was close IMO.

His Kelly vs Booth scorecard was off IMO, but I know somepeople think the Nottingham fighter deserved the nod, I thought it was Kelly clearly.

Dales form has dropped,however its now time to grow learn and commit to boxing...if he does and he sounds like he will ,the euro title at least will be achievable...after that who knows...I always said Booth was Robinsons bogeyman,Kelly was Booths and Robinson is Kellys,however we have unfinished business at fly before dealing with Kelly...
