Sammy Farber, one of the last, if not THE last, of the old-time Golden Bantams of the Golden Age of Bantamweight Boxing (THE RING Dec. 1953) of the 1920s died July 20 at age 95:

Hate to hear that...I remember when you first got in contact with him...which must have gave him some pleasure knowing that people today remember him and his boxing career...RIP!

Barry, how could I forget!! About three years ago, his grandson was having a birthday party for him at their home in NYC, and the family was gathered together. And I got to speak with Sammy on the phone for a few minutes. I was told he indeed was happy to know he still had fans all these years later.
