Kevin Anderson will fight Joshua Okine for Okine's Commonwealth title on 30th September.

Okine stopped Barnes in June. Huge challenge for 22 yr old Anderson.

I think its very winnable for Anderson from what I have seen of him. Although Okine beat Barnes he hardly looked great in doing so he was very limited I thought.

Clearly a step up for the young puncher, but as nickd says, Anderson has the ability to win it.

Okine looked as if he could be outboxed and which Kevin can do, but also packs a hard enough dig to stop Okine trying to walk thorugh him. Anderson also appears to hold a good shot too.

The only doubt I have is stamina, as the fight will probably go into the later stages.

Its a very tough fight for Anderson and one I'm surprised hes taking, but i suppose the step up has got to come at sometime. Its a good job Anderson takes a good shot, because his defence is........not the greatest, well it hasn't benn yet anyway, I'm sure they will have been working on it in training though

When I was at the Hatton Vs Tszyu fight I was texting Butch complaining about the mismatches on the undercard and I said that Barnes should outbox Okine fairly comfortably

Lets see if the winner is brave enough to face Ali Nuumbembe???

Anderson can win this, and good luck to him... but need to watch Okine doesn't catch him with something silly. He looks the type to throw random, sometimes awkward, haymakers. I've seen Anderson caught by a couple silly shots in the past. He keeps his hands up and focussed he can win this though...

I based my opinion on Okine from past Ghanain boxers. There's not normally that many bad ones, but I hadn't actually seen him myself so it was a shot in the dark.

Yeah, either Anderson or Okine would make a great fight with Nuumbembe. All good matches to look forward to hopefully

Neil Sinclair's Commonwealth welterweight title challenge has been thrown into the doubt.

It seems that a battle between rival promoters allegedly and Tommy Gilmour has emerged as they seek to sign up Commonwealth welterweight champion Joshua Okine for a voluntary defence.

Gilmour yesterday announced that Okine would be defending his title against Scotland's Kevin Anderson in Kirkcaldy, just a week after Sinclair was told he would be fighting the Ghanian on September 10 in Cardiff.

Gilmour insists: "The two contracts have been signed and lodged with the Commonwealth Council and they have agreed to the fight.

"On September 30 Kevin Anderson will be fighting Joshua Okine for the Commonwealth title.

"I'm delighted to have got the fight and to have it Kirkcaldy. I did a show there recently, the first since my grandfather did the last one 52 years before, and the crowd was fantastic.

"Now we're bringing them a title fight and we hope to have it on Sky television."

But Sinclair's manager and coach John Breen insists that the Belfast man will be getting his chance and not Anderson.

"I have spoken to allegedly's office and as far as I am concerned the fight is going ahead.

"I know that Tommy Gilmour wants it for Anderson but I haven't been told that he has the fight. I just hope it can all be cleared up very soon."

Meanwhile, it seems that Brian Magee will have his case against Warren's company Sports Network heard on August 17.

Magee's camp are adamant that they can get compensation over the late cancellation of the Belfast man's proposed King's Hall clash with WBO super-middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe.

Any suggestion of compensation has been refuted by Warren, who maintains that a contract was not signed for the title fight.

Since then Warren maintains that he has offered Magee a shot at Calzaghe but "they turned the fight down".

Indeed, on the day the fight was cancelled Sports Network offered Magee a three-fight package, starting with Jim Rock at the King's Hall.

So not only was there no WBO approval ( ), but there wasn't even a contract to say the fight was official? This for a fight that was called off with 24 HOURS notice? Sky must have been right pissed off.
