This could have been a real bruising encounter. Who do you guys think would have won between these two iron jawed Middleweight Champions over 15 rounds?
Both these guys were two of the strongest and most durable of Middleweight Champions so this may be a distance fight, but who would win????
Any opinions fight fans?

This is a very good matchup... Tiger is very underrated and like Lamotta he never got any easy breaks. Against Tiger Jake would be facing someone as tough as himself ...I think the Peak Lamotta of the mid-40s would probably have a bit too much and be a bit too cute for Tiger... winning a decision but I think Tiger would have beaten the Lamotta of '50-'51.... It would be very tough... I think at his best Tiger would have given any middleweight in history a lot of trouble. Tiger should really get a lot more credit as he did what few Middleweight champions have done and won the world Lightheavyweight title too and he wasn't even particularly big for a Middleweight... and he done it against a good champion too in Jose Torres.

Tiger-LaMotta would be a great fight. (Assuming you are talking about Tiger in his early years when lost a lot).
They were both aggressive fighters who weren't strong punchers. Both had great chins.
I would give a slight edge to Tiger, but this could go either way.

After reviewing the films I'm pretty sure Tiger would not get Jake Down and Jake would remind Dick of that at the end of the fight. However I can not call the winner.
It's give and take and in the judges hands at the end of 15. A decision either way could not be considered a robbery. I lean ever so slightly to Jake using a touch of entertaining drama to woo the judges. I would think this would be a rather painful brawl.

Great fight KOJO. I think Lamotta edges out Tiger by the slimmest of margins. I see Lamotta as a more agressive beter chinned Fullmer who fought two close fights with Tiger, the first two times i mean. I think LaMottas chin and body punching would be the difference but i wouldnt beat, or argue with anyone who says different.

Good match-up! It would be interesting to see if Tiger could draw Lomotta in and counter or if Lamotta would outwork Tiger on the inside. I lean toward lomotta on points, as would def go the distance.
Lomotta could have taken all that Tiger could trow at him but I dont think he could have bulled Tiger around the ring the way he did some of his other opponents.

BoxBuzz I feel the same way I've been giving this matchup some thought and keep changing my mind on a daily basis. This match-up and prime Young vs prime Quarry are starting to give me sleepless nights...
I lean towards Jake outworking Dick over 15 to take a razor tight decision, but there is still something nagging away in my gut that tells me the Nigerian warrior can get the better of The Bronx Bull.
I think I may have to put this matchup on the shelf for a few months more and comeback to it another day.
