Has anyone seen the Wink Wright v Julio Cesar Vasquez fight, its just in Boxing Monthly Wright says that the loss was due to him having poor footwear and he kept slipping over and these were called as knockdowns.

Was this what happened?

Hmm. Judge for yourself:

Either way, todays version of Winky wouldn't even be tickled by someone like Vasquez.

Very true, it was too big a step up in class for Winky at that point in time.

But this is a good example why you should judge fighters by their actions rather than words. Think about all the people who'll bring up that these knockdowns were slips now - after reading the mag - in boxing discussions up and down the country.

Yeah doesn't look to much like a slip, i guess sometimes a boxer says it so many times that they end up beleiving it anyway.
