What if Toney and Benn fought at SuperMiddleweight?

What doyou reckon it'd be like?

That would be cool to watch though. :box:

I can see Toney stopping him late. Benn would set an early pace and land the bigger shots. He'd be winning the rounds but slowly losing the fight.

It would be a great scrap but Toney has the better defence and if in proper shape would wear Benn down.

Toney would stop him though Benn would fight every step of the way. The problem would be that Toney was very hard to hit at that weight and more mobile than he is now, and he threw more punches. And his punches were shorter more precise and, despite the reputatuions involved, I think he punched just as hard if not harder than Benn. The harder Nigel tried the worse it would get. Toney in 8-10

Bad style matchup for Nunn, although it'd be entertaining while it lasted. Toney would counter him all night long.

Eubank-Toney is more interesting. I think Simply the Best would've had a good shot of upsetting James at 168.

Toney would have won convincingly.

Nigel would not have had the discipline & would have been angry at Toney's jibes & insults.

Toney by TKO in the 6th or 7th. :box:

Toney without a doubt - At LHW and below Toney is one hell of a fighter - could have fought in any era without a doubt and done very well -

Toney by UNI or late rd TKO -

What about Toney and Mc Clellan? :box:

Toney beats McClellan easy. McClellan had a habit of reaching with that long right hand and against Toney that is a severe liability. Defense and handspeed, and unerrated punching power mean Toney by KO @ 7-8

I think Toney wins UD or late TKO - Toney was too sharp for Benn - He'd counter him until he either TKO'd him or pulled ahead to a wide UD -

As for Toney Vs McClellan - At 160 I think McClellan might TKO him early - After 6 rounds though the fight belongs to Toney -

At 168 I think Toney would be the favorite (for sure) with McClellan having a shot within the first 4 rounds - (but catching Toney clean would be da*n hard!).

Meade, even if you catch Toney clean have we seen Toney Stunned from a head shot yet? Don't think so.

Agree about Toney's chin - Very solid - But two MW that would have hurt him were J. Jackson and McClellan - If they hit him clean Toney would have been in big trouble -

The bigger problem is hitting Toney clean on chin (he rolls incredibly well with punches) - Even shots that land he is always rolling slightly with them -

Yep he is from this planet and mortal, though he won't admit it.

Toney would beat all mentioned. The only way Toney gets beat is it oyu use speed and keep away and don't let him counter you.

Toney just outboxes him unless he gets sassy and then Toney knocks him out.

Toney at his best was a match for anyone and would be too good for Benn, better chin, greater accuracy and better puncher also. Toney had a KO punch from any angle..Benn's in for a boxing lesson early on and then a KO between 8-10 rds...
