November Superfight: Floyd, Zab or Hatton?

Something's got to give - match any of this trio and you've got runner up fight of the year - who beats who?

Unlikely, but Ricky might fancy moving up for a quick shot at the dangerous but vunerable Judah. Defintely a punchers chance there, but like I've said before June 5th, Zab probably hits harder with one shot than Tszyu..................Hatton TKO10

Floyd v Hatton? Don't blame em if team Hatton pass on this one so soon - that's one you'd want to save for the grand finale, because I don't think anyone beats Pretty Boy for awhile yet......Floyd TKO9

But what a showdown Floyd v Zab would be - no-none has really clocked Mayweather yet, but if anyone can it might be Super Judah - wonder what would happen if Zab connects flush with one of the blinding left hooks.........But I'd still go Mayweather KO8 :TU:

Interesting proposition. Mayweather really is moving a long way if he goes to Welter, Pernell Whittaker started at Lightweight, and got as far as Welter with minor success at LM.

Would love to see Judah - Mayweather. If Floyd were to win that he'd go top of my p4p list (whatever that's worth) immediately after Hopkins retires (or if he comes a cropper in the rematch with Taylor).

Mayweather's resume is excellent, but if you look you will see Top Rank have kept him well away from top class slick boxers/southpaws. The Corley fight might have given us a reason why. Here's an old post with more about that:

Judah has never looked faster, stronger, more on top of his game than he has since the Spinks rematch. This would be an awesome fight. Imagine the ringwalks with the rival MC's.

Yep the press conferences would be fun too - even Don King couldn't get a word in once Zab and Floyd start off...This fight is looking a definite possibility - both Arum and King apparently want it made.

Judah looked pretty sloppy against Spinks. He could afford to because Spinks doesn't have any punch at all. Mayweather can sting with his combinations and he can stand in the pocket and not run like a thief like Spinks did.

If you're talking about the first fight I agree. Disagree totally about the second fight, Judah's double jab was glued to Spinks' body and he couldn't miss with the straight left - rocking him in the 8th and dropping him in the 7th and 9th.

He missed often with the first right jab to the face, that's because it was mostly a dummy so he could emphasise the body follow-up. Zab's plan was spot on and he had Cory's number that night - all those jabs to the body made Spinks vulnerable shortly after the midway point. You simply don't bang someone as slick as Spinks out with Grant gloves unless it's a controlled, accurate performance.

I think Mayweather vs Judah is almost sealed, according to reports.

I see Hatton beat Judah : Judah will lose his discipling (i.e. focus) as he often does in long winded fights. I think Hatton will break him eventaully around the 8th or 9th round.

I think Mayweather will outspeed Judah, Zab has the power to one punch KO Mayweather no doubt but not sure he will hit him clean. I say again Mayweather by lateish stoppage.

Hatton vs Mayweather: Mayweather by a wide one sided decision.

Mayweather-Judah would certainly be interesting as Judah has the capacity to actually hit Mayweather and we don't know what would happen when he finally get's hit. Mayweather is so fast and sharp i could see him grinding down Judah to a late stoppage, or it could be similar to the first Judah-Spinks fight where both men were so fast and slick they will negate each others strengths.

Judah beats both Mayweather & Hatton at light welter or welter.

Mayweather v Judah wont happen though. Mayweathers ego is big, but he's smart enough to know Judah is very high risk. Mayweather wont take this fight!

I'd take Hatton to beat Mayweather, but would not put the mortgage on it!

look, forget about mayweather fighting at light welter.....ever again.

Rather see Hatton and Mayweather. :box:

The light-welter division could go from possibly the best in boxing to a bit sparse rather quickly. Tszyu may retire, Cotto and Mayweather move up, Gatti and Harris looked poor last time out, and M'baye and Witter are yet to win at the very top level.

Then again, if Harris bounces back, Witter or M'baye (or both) prove themselves legit world class, and the winner of Corrales/Castillo moves up (and isn't ruined by another war) it's game on again.

Mayweather will beat Judah pretty handily. As I have said elsewhere, Judah is good but Mayweather is just exceptional.

Personally I'd have to put Judah in the exceptional category too. I don't know how good the fight would be but as far as showdowns between top operators go you don't get much better than this.

hatton definitely beats judah barring cuts. :TU: hatton is too tough and strong for judah. i agree with stujones on that one, probably about 8 or 9 before he's squirming on the canvas.

mayweather is a very tough fight for ricky. mayweather is as tough as he is skillful. however i think mayweather will have to fight a defensive fight to beat ricky, if he fights in the pocket he gets sorted out. :box:

How Mayweather keep Hatton from getting close to him though? He took all Tszyu's supposed big right hand and just kept going like a tank!

Hatton hits harder than Floyd too.

You may well be right, but I still have this little voice in the back of my head saying "Many were saying the same things about Shane Mosely a few years ago"

Including myself. Mosely was another hard hitting, super fast fighter who went up the weights and we all know what happened to him.

Just a thought.

Judah is faster and has better movement, and would find more openings than Tszyu, who although very effective, is a much more predictable fighter.

Was talking about if Hatton fought Floyd.

Same applies though. Floyd has such a good defence and good movement, and despite not being a huge puncher, he throws very hurtful combinations. I think Hatton would take quite some time to get near to Floyd, but I believe that after 6-7 rounds would start doing so.

I think Hatton has very good footwork for a come forward fighter, and excellent balance, and wouldn't just be ploughing forward eating shots
