Whenever you think it can't get worse no more Warren puls another one.
Why don't they just pick up someone from underneath a Cardiff bridge, give him a cup of watery soup, and then put him in front of little haymaker Joe? In effect this would be the same, and they spare the cash for Ashira's plane ticket.

Well no real surprises, what we all expected.
Depends how much Ashira has left after the Masoe loss, he is physically strong and will go for the body. Can he drag Calzaghe into the trenches? Time will tell.

To be honest, this is nothing more than a glorified sparring session, for Joe to tune up. However as Mr McNeilly said, as a title bout, it stinks.

I´ll never understand you guys. You criticize Calzaghe whatever he does and hype Harrison whenever he beats a clubfighter, truckdriver or human punching-ball.....
Calzaghe will beat Lacy and prove that he is an all-time-great in this division.

Where´s your problem? He fights the #10 for a free mandatory. That´s fornicating normal. Other champs do this as well. It´s better than staying inactive.....

Although ive no doubt that calzaghe will do a job on ashira i think u lot need to give ashira a bit more credit... i saw his fight against elliot on eurosport and he was impressive ... a nice hit and move boxer with a bit of a dig. He really should have beaten masoe but apparently got away from the game plan and stood right in front of him. Yes he is a middleweight but for me a genuine world class middleweight and thats better than say some of marcus beyer's title opponents. Yoshira niguara? Andre thysse? And hes got omar sheika next!

I have no problem with Calzaghe having a tune up, and as you say, if he fights Lacy, then all well and good. However, surely you would concede that many of us are skeptical about Calzaghe actually taking lacy on, given his recent history.
My main problem is billing this as a world title bout. Ashira is no more a SM contender than I am Widow Twankie, he's just been sparked by a fringe contender at MW, and yet he's a top #10 WBO super middleweight?
This is precisely why the WBO gets so much criticism.

You're talking sh!te. Beyer's few titlefights included Danny Green and Eric Lucas.

After the Mitchell fight I thought he career might go in the right direction.
No chance of that. Why not have a non title warm up fight.
Has anyone else noticed those 2 female boxers advert by universum.
I looked on the Regina Halmich website(Bored at work) she got some topless pictures of herself.
I thought the women game wanted to be taken serious!

She was in german Playboy a couple of years ago. She is still one most popular "german" boxers, only the Klitschkos haver better TV ratings than her.

Her fights get around 7 mill viewers while the Klitschkos get 9. Most other gets 3½-4mill.

Ashira isn't that bad but stepping up into a new division and getting a shot at a title who's owners wish to be taken seriously is the piss take part. For his part Ashira is a strong little fellow with a good body attack, he basically wore out Elliott with body punches early and Elliott collapsed around 8. In his fight with Masoe he stood straight in front of the New Zealander and paid the penalty. He wasn't sparked clean out by Masoe but caught with a good shot at the end of the first and never properly recovered.

Good heavens it's Evans!
Frankie's really pushed the boat out with this one, obviously this Kenyan based Dane is a dangerous and tricky customer, who could well upset Joe's plans to meet Lacy in November at........errr where was it again?
Still, Ashira will no doubt be buoyed up by the Welsh crowd cheering him on with "Bread of Evan"
